For decades, St. Peter’s parishioners have gathered in the park to celebrate our community and the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul with outdoor Mass and an afternoon of food, fellowship and classic summer fun.

Some of the children in our older photos are now bringing their own children to the Parish Picnic! That’s the beauty of a parish tradition like this — it creates memories that last and a community that continues to flourish each generation.

All parishioners are invited to join us in Veterans Memorial Park on Sunday, June 28 for our Parish Festival Mass & Picnic in the Park. We’ll begin with our 12:00 PM outdoor Mass, followed by food, a DJ, giant lawn games, a bounce house, summer sweets, and a great time with great people.

What makes this day so special is not just the celebration, but how it’s truly run BY our parishioners and FOR our parishioners. If you’re able, please consider signing up for a one-hour volunteer shift. Whether you’re setting up, helping at the grill, running games, or serving cotton candy, you’ll be helping continue a cherished 30-year-old tradition.

"Become what you receive."
- St. Augustine

The moment Father AJ started talking about marshmallows in this past weekend's homily, every kid in the pews seemed to perk up. But behind the marshmallows was a profound truth about the Eucharist and how it's different from ordinary food...

When we eat ordinary food, it becomes part of us.

But in Holy Communion, something extraordinary happens:

We don't change Jesus. Jesus changes us to become more like Him.

"I heard Your voice from on high. 'I am the food of the fully grown. Grow and you will feed on me. And you will not change Me into you, like food of flesh eats. But you will be changed into Me.'"
- St. Augustine

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” — Galatians 5:22–23

Congratulations to our newly Confirmed! On Saturday 73 young men and women of our parish received the gifts of the Holy Spirit in two beautiful services celebrated by Bishop Michael Saporito, who we were blessed to welcome back home.

Confirmation is not the finish line: it's the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith. As you move forward, may the Holy Spirit help these fruits grow in your life: love in how you treat others, joy in every season, peace in times of uncertainty, and courage to live as a disciple of Christ—even when you're feeling really, really squeezed.

Our St. Peter's community is praying for you. Come, Holy Spirit! 🕊️

Special thank you to the catechists and all Faith Formation volunteers who helped guide these students throughout the year, and to Allison, Monique and Hannah from our Office of Faith Formation for their amazing leadership and support!

It is our joy to welcome Marek Chmielewski, a Seminarian who will be with us for most of June and July this summer! Please join us in giving him a warm St. Peter's welcome and in praying for him as he continues to explore the priesthood alongside Fr. AJ, Fr. Paul, and our faith community.

Say hello to Marek at Mass and read more about him in Fr. AJ's latest letter, which can be found in this weekend's bulletin or on our website here: www.saint-peter.org/whats-happening/a-message-from-fr-aj-06052026

Today we opened our 2027 Mass Intention book, and many parishioners waited their turn in the Parish Center to reserve Masses for loved ones.

Why?

Years later, they're still being prayed for. We as Catholics believe there is extraordinary spiritual value in having a Mass offered for someone they love.

If you're unfamiliar with Mass intentions, they are requests that a Mass be offered for a particular person or intention. While Masses are often requested for deceased loved ones, they may also be offered for those who are living or for special intentions.

The turnout today was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful this practice remains. Looking around the room, we saw spouses remembering spouses, children remembering parents, friends remembering friends, and families continuing a tradition of prayer that spans generations.

A special thank you to our Parish Office Staff, who faithfully spent hours helping parishioners reserve dates and keeping everything running smoothly.

Missed today's opening? The 2027 Mass Intention book remains open. To reserve a Mass intention, please visit or contact the Parish Office.

"Go in peace to serve the world... Take the love of God with you as you go."

Today's Baccalaureate Mass celebrated our St. Peter Academy graduating eighth grade class of 2026! From serving in First Friday Masses to helping out in our community, we are grateful for the ways God's light has shined through these bright students.

In the words of our Principal, Dr. Kevin Flanagan:

"Our graduates have been challenged to become servant leaders — individuals who understand that true leadership is found in humility, kindness, and placing the needs of others before their own. Through their experiences at St. Peter Academy, they have learned to lead by example, to stand up for what is right, and to live out the values of the Gospel in their daily lives." (Read his full letter at www.saint-peter.org)

Thank you to the St. Peter's community for supporting our students, and may God bless our graduates!
