The first board of CCM was the board of the First Christian Church in Washington Court House, Ohio (this was Jeanie’s home church, her family attended FCC). They remained the official board of CCM until early 2003. This is a screenshot of the articles of incorporation for CCM filed by them when Dale & Jeanie were in initial stages of planning. Sadly, only one of the original trustees is still alive. This group helped set up CCM as an official 501(c)3 non-profit and they were also instrumental in changing the course of Dale & Jeanie’s lives financially some 20 years later.

In the early 1990’s, they increased Dale & Jeanie's salaries and set up 403(b)s for both Dale and Jeanie. These retirement accounts were funded generously each month by CCM until Dec of 2022. These wise elders did not want Dale & Jeanie to have to work until their deaths, they had the foresight to give Dale & Jeanie the financial independence to be able to retire comfortably from missionary work and hand over the ministry to the Colombian leaders that were raised up.

Throwback Thursday: How many of you were around in May 2000 when this visual was in the newsletter to help us raise funds to secure the apartment in Bogota? Thanks to the generosity of our donors it only took us only 3 years to raise the $200,000 that was needed to purchase and furnish the apartment in Bogota. Over the next 20 years $100,000 of donor funding has been spent maintaining the apartment. Thankfully, a "Safe House" is not longer needed in Colombia, the political situation improved significantly about 15 years ago and Dale has lived at the camp in Villavicencio for the past 10 years.

A vintage newsletter from February 1975 when Dale & Jeanie were just getting settled into their first ministry in Colombia. They headed to Bogota in late summer 1974 and spent some months getting things ready to move to San Jose del Guaviare in late 1974. As you can tell by reading this article, Jeanie really had her hands full with a newborn baby (Wendy) and learning to manage a household with minimal electricity and water. Hard to believe it was 48 years ago that CCM started working in Colombia.

The school is in need of a bit of extra support this year since many parents that can normally afford tuition have lost wages due to Covid. Please consider making a donation to our scholarship fund that will specifically help cover expenses for these students this year. Head on over to our blog to read more.

The virus that has devastated lives and ravaged economies around the world has affected our missionary work, just as it has affected most of you in your jobs and daily lives. As many churches have had their offerings diminished, they have been able to send less to the missionaries they support. That...
