The Freemasons of Prairie View Masonic Lodge No. 95 are pleased to partner with Knuth Brewing Company and its 6th Annual Winter PolkaFest to present our Winter Steintossen Competition. This is a scholarship fundraiser for Ripon, Green Lake, Markesan, and Laconia High Schools!!
Registrationwill start at 2:30PM with the Competition to follow between 3:00 and 4:00pm at Knuth Brewing in Ripon, WI. on Saturday February 21st between the band sets. Cost is $10. per contestant.

Steintossen is a traditional Swiss/Alpine sport that involves stone throwing, typically featured in Swiss festivals and alpine competitions. The name translates to "stone pushing" or "stone tossing".
Participants compete by lifting and throwing a heavy stone (ours are 100 lbs Men and 40lbs Women). Your goal is to throw as far as possible using a specific technique that emphasizes strength, balance, and precision.
The throw is judged based on distance, not style. The stone is lifted from the ground and thrown forward using a push motion, not a swing or spin.
The throw must be controlled and deliberate, often resembling a chest pass or forward shove.
If the athlete touches the top of the balken (a raised bar or line) with feet or hands, or crosses it during or after the throw, the attempt is invalid.
