Good Thursday morning, Wisconsin Conference friends. In a message to the Conference ahead of the start of the new program year, Conference Minister Franz Rigert reflected on this admonition from Jesus in Matthew’s Gospel: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Franz’s take is that ”the invitation to pass through the narrowest gate (is an) instruction to us to cultivate the widest love.” You can read the entire message at https://tinyurl.com/franz090326.

Good Monday morning, Wisconsin Conference friends. Our Conference Minister was there Sunday when St. John’s UCC in Black Creek celebrated its 155th anniversary with what he says was “a full house and lots of joy.” St. John’s was making up for lost time after COVID scuttled plans to mark the 150th anniversary five years ago. That’s Pastor Moira Finley, who serves two other congregations as well, at the Communion table.

Good Monday morning, Wisconsin Conference friends. It was a bittersweet Sunday at Our Saviour’s UCC in Ripon, where the congregation bid farewell to German volunteer Sophie Moldenhauer. Her hosts for her year in Wisconsin were Pastor Kevin and Kelly Mundell, who are pictured with Sophie and Conference Minister Franz Rigert. After a year volunteering at Our Saviour’s and working in the Conference office and at Daycholah Center, Sophie is headed back to Berlin to begin her nursing education.
