What a wild and wonderful morning it was at our Art & Service Auction! The energy in the room was truly something special, filled with laughter, generosity, and a shared spirit of community.

We are deeply grateful to our live auction donors who contributed beautiful items and meaningful services, to the enthusiastic bidders whose generosity brought the event to life, and to the entertainers who added joy and vibrancy throughout the morning. We’re especially grateful to our musicians, slide advancer, cashier, and auctioneer (Ohhh, Brad😂), whose time, talent, and care helped make the entire event feel seamless and joyful. We also want to thank everyone who supported us from afar by assigning a proxy to do your bidding.

The Prairie Lakes Art & Service Auction was not only a success, but a celebration of what makes our fellowship community so strong—creativity, kindness, and connection. The results exceeded our expectations and will be announced in the May newsletter and at the Town Hall Meeting this Sunday at Prairie Lakes.

Team Sherman! Pictured here with his friend Sue and his three sisters, made today’s Easter service at Prairie Lakes extra special! 🌷
Sherman led a thoughtful and engaging reflection, exploring the Easter story through a Unitarian Universalist lens, one that embraces curiosity, wonder, and multiple interpretations.
Meanwhile, during the children’s lesson, young minds were busy discovering the Goddess of Spring, the origins of Easter, and the many ways people understand the idea of resurrection.
A beautiful day of reflection, learning, and community! 💛

Today was our 5th Sunday Fluff ‘N Buff at Prairie Lakes, and let me tell you, it truly takes a village (and a lot of elbow grease!) to scrub, sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, rake, and revive those planter beds. 🌿✨
Huge shoutout to Spud, Kathryn, Beth, Connie, Jill, and Tanya for rolling up their sleeves and making everything shine. Prairie Lakes is looking fresh, bright, and beautiful!💛
Nothing better than teamwork and a little sparkle to wrap up the day!

Worship Service with Jill Stiemsma: “Herstory: What It Takes / What It’s Taken”
PLUS: Our 2nd Sunday Potluck

In honor of Women’s History Month, Jill Stiemsma will explore the invaluable contributions of women and the mighty struggles they’ve faced to be recognized, in both the political arena and the marketplace. After the Reflection, join the conversation during Herstory: What It Takes / What It’s Taken.

Friendly Reminder: Spring Forward This Sunday! Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before bed or you might arrive just in time to help with the cleanup instead of the meal.

We hope to see you there!

Worship Service Sunday, February 22, 10AM “The Power of One and the Power Within.” Join us for a reflective and inspiring worship service with Becky Feyen as we explore the quiet power at the center of our lives, the source of our will, our love, and our deepest identity. Together, we will gently examine both the light within us and the tender spaces shaped by loneliness, sorrow, and longing.

In a world that pulls us in many directions, this service invites us to pause, look inward with honesty, and reconnect with the personal center that both defines us and binds us to one another. We will consider how our need for solitude and our yearning for connection shape who we are and how, at our core, we share an irreducible humanity that calls us toward love, growth, and spiritual wholeness.

Come rediscover the sacred thread that links us to each other, to the natural world, and to the wider universe.

Please join us at Prairie Lakes Sunday, February 15, 10am, for a presentation by guest speaker Tom Eddy. Tom is a highly regarded award winning teacher, biologist, and botanist and will be talking about what the Green Lake landscape looked like before the settlers. He'll describe vast stretches of oak woodlands, with sunlight spilling onto grassy openings where wildflowers and prairie grasses thrived.

A core UU principle affirms “the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” Learning what the Green Lake landscape looked like before settlement deepens our awareness that we are participants in a living, evolving ecosystem—not separate from it.

We hope you can join us!

Worship Service – Sunday, February 8 at 10:00 AM
Join us for a meaningful morning with Robyn Davis-Bartow as she shares “Embracing the Cold: Seasonal Living as Spiritual Practice.” Together, we’ll explore how living in tune with the seasons—yes, even winter—can become an intentional spiritual practice that nourishes a life well lived.

✨ Bonus joy: It’s Second Sunday Potluck! Bring a dish, bring a friend, and stay for good food and good conversation.

Meanwhile, in RE/Youth Group, our children and youth will be honoring Black History Month, learning about its stories, leaders, and lasting impact.

Come for worship, stay for connection—and don’t forget your favorite potluck dish! 🥘💛

Please join us for an ENGAGE Sunday, February 1, 10AM with Steve Sorenson “Is the Constitution Being Protected or Eroded by the Current U.S. Supreme Court?” Whether the Roberts Court is preserving the Constitution is subject to intense legal and political debate. Perspectives are largely split amongst those who see the role as preserving the originalist view of the constitution and those who believe that the constitution is dismantling long-standing legislative initiatives. It can also be viewed as those who favor federalism as opposed to those who advocate local and state control. There is also an underlying debate between those who prefer a pure democracy, and those who support the constitutional framework of a republican form of government. These competing perspectives will frame our discussion, and participants are encouraged to come prepared with their own views.

Who is Steve Sorenson? Steven R. Sorenson is a prominent Ripon, WI-based attorney and former President of the State Bar of Wisconsin (1997-1998). With over 35 years of experience, he specializes in municipal, real estate, and corporate law, and is an adjunct professor at Ripon College.

The kids of Prairie Lakes, ages 9-17, knocked it out of the park with today's worship service, "Behind the Smile: Mental Health in Teens." The kids thoughtfully chose the theme, music, readings, and creative elements of the service. They brought so much heart into the service. So grateful - thank you!
