It is with great sadness that we ask you to join us in lifting up the family, friends, teachers, and classmates of Paris Morris, a precious second grade student at Vicksburg Catholic School, as we mourn her heartbreaking passing.

May God's infinite mercy, peace, and love surround all who knew and loved Paris, bringing comfort and strength in the difficult days ahead. May His everlasting light shine upon her, and may she rest in eternal peace. 💜🙏

Feast of Saint Luke, Evangelist: according to tradition he was born to a pagan family in Antioch, and was a doctor by profession. Converted to faith in Christ, he became a cherished companion of the blessed Apostle Paul. In his Gospel he carefully recounted, as a scribe of the gentleness of Christ, everything that Jesus did and taught. Similarly, in the Acts of the Apostles he chronicled the beginnings of the life of the primitive Church as far as Saint Paul’s first dwelling in the City of Rome.

Saint Ignatius, bishop and martyr: a disciple of Saint John the Apostle, he was the second after Saint Peter to govern the Church of Antioch. He was condemned to the beasts in the reign of the Emperor Trajan and was taken to Rome where he was crowned with a glorious martyrdom. On the journey, while suffering the ferocity of the guards who were like leopards, he wrote seven letters to different Churches, in which he entreated the brethren to serve God in unity with the bishops, and not to impede his immolation as a victim for Christ.
