To accompany his constant calls for peace in the world, Pope Leo XIV will lead the prayer of the Holy Rosary on May 30 at 7:00 PM Rome time from the Vatican Gardens.

He will lead the faithful in Shrines around the world in praying the Joyful Mysteries, with each decade being dedicated specifically for those affected by war and violence and entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace.

The first mystery prays for the victims of war, especially the most vulnerable, while the second is for those who bring words of hope and the comfort of faith to populations affected by war. The third recalls the medical and paramedical personnel and volunteers who bring humanitarian aid every day.

The fourth mystery prays for those who suffer the violence of war, for prisoners and for all who endure humiliations that violate human dignity. The fifth and final Joyful Mystery is dedicated to praying for an end to war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Maria Medlin

With deep sorrow and faith in the promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of Mrs. Maria Medlin on May 18, 2026. She was laid to rest this past Thursday, surrounded by the love, prayers, and gratitude of all who knew her.

As a community, we hold her family close in our hearts—lifting them in prayer and asking God to grant them comfort, strength, and peace during this time of loss.

A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church upon the return of Fr. Raja, so that our parish family may gather together to honor her life and commend her soul to God.

May the Lord, who is rich in mercy, grant Mrs. Maria Medlin her final repose, and may perpetual light shine upon her.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace. Amen.

Today our parish gives heartfelt thanks for the faithful leadership of Sister Carol Ann Prenger.
In the absence of a priest, Sister Carol Ann guided us with reverence and devotion, leading our community in prayer, proclaiming the Word, and ensuring that our worship remained centered on Christ and rooted in the traditions of our Catholic faith.

She offered special blessings upon our graduates, reminding them that the Holy Spirit accompanies them as they step forward into new paths. Her calm presence, her dedication to the Church, and her unwavering commitment to serving God’s people continue to be a true blessing to St. Matthew.

🌸 We also extend our deep gratitude to Maty and Noel Benavides, whose loving care keeps our altar beautifully prepared for every celebration. Their quiet, steady service—week after week—helps lift our hearts to God and sustains the sacredness of our worship.

🙏 Thank you, Sister Carol Ann, and thank you, Maty and Noel, for your leadership, your service, and your devotion to our parish family.
