Saint Brigid's last worship service December 18, 2022 with Bishop Megan Traquair preaching and presiding. After the service there was a social hour and light lunch. This video includes not only the service but some of the social hour.

There was a period of time when we lost the sound in the room from our Zoomers, but we were able to correct the problem and we have decided to post the entirety of the video because of the beautiful things that were said by those in the room and online. Thank you Zoomers for staying with us as we worked through the problems. (Sort of a metaphor for all of the past several years.) We love you so much and want to save every second of our time together. May you all have a blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year.

Free Christmas Concert at Hunter Hall December 4

On Sunday, December 4 at 2:00 pm Saint Brigid’s Episcopal Church will host Carols, Cookies and Christmas Fun, a free Christmas organ concert, at 218 California Street (Hunter Hall at the corner of California and South Second Streets in Rio Vista). Organist and entertainer Dave Moreno will return to the keyboard of the Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ in in the Great Hall with a program of holiday music, a Christmas carol sing-a-long and a hilarious holiday themed silent film. For over 40 years Moreno has played the mighty organs in many of the great remaining vintage theatres. His musical skill, warm personality and quirky sense of humor make for a program that will delight every member of the family. Christmas cookie treats from Sam’s Catering will top off the day.

As seating in the hall is limited, to assure your seats at this event, you may wish to email the church at [email protected] or call the church at 707-374-2667 (our message telephone). Please provide your name, phone number or email address and the number of persons who will be in your group. Doors will open at 1:30 pm.

This is a free event, sponsored by the church as a way of saying farewell. Saint Brigid’s will close her doors on Sunday, December 18 and is hosting this event to say thank you for all of the ways we have been able to work together on community outreach projects that benefit Rio Vista and the surrounding Delta area. At the event there will be a free-will offering which will benefit local outreach programs.

Rio Vista Museum has accepted our donation of the painting of Saint Brigid and the Rio Vista bridge. So delightful to have this beautiful painting staying here in Rio Vista. Thank you Allen Wyly both for the painting itself and for helping to find a permanent home for it!

Petition and vote to dissolve St. Brigid of Kildare, Rio Vista at the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California, 2022 Convention. After Bishop Megan makes a few remarks, she calls on Leta Parks to confirm the petition is in proper form. Once that is done, St. Brigid Junior Warden, Kathleen Moran, joined by Deacon Sandy, requests the petition be adopted by 2/3 vote by orders and reads the petition.
