Our good friend Steve Mendel from Sand Jamm in Wildwood came by Branches today with an amazing amount of sweat shirts and tees for our guests. We have known Steve for many years now. We are so very appreciative of his support of our mission at Branches. He is most definitely one of the “good guys,” who has a generous and caring heart. We are so blessed by our long standing relationship. Many, many thanks ❤️.

It was such a pleasure today to greet old friends and make new ones, as representatives of the medical staff at Cooper University Hospital came to Branches to present our Executive Director Alana Maldonado with a generous donation. This donation came directly from the medical staff, for which we are most grateful. Their visit gave us an opportunity to show our new friends around Branches and acquaint them with the many ways in which we serve the community. Many thanks to all who made this donation possible.

Thanks to the generosity of Blitz’s Market in Sea Isle and St. Barnabas by the Bay Church in the Villas, Branches is having a belated Memorial Day indoor picnic today. Blitz’s donated a very large bowl of pasta salad and St. Barnabas gave us lots of beautiful cold cuts left over from their hoagie sale. St. Barnabas also gave hoagies which were enjoyed by all the folks in the CSPNJ Center yesterday. Thanks as well to Susan who showed up with some delicious looking cupcakes.
Many thanks for thinking of Branches. We are always grateful when food is donated, instead of disposing of it.

Our friends over at Stone Circle Farm have always been incredible supporters of The Branches Outreach and our community. 🌱❤️

Last year, through a special partnership program, Stone Circle Farm helped provide fresh organic produce directly to our food pantry guests. Unfortunately, funding for that program was cut, but that hasn’t stopped them from finding ways to give back and help make healthy, local food more accessible to those in need throughout Cape May County.

Stone Circle Farm accepts SNAP/EBT benefits and Good Food Bucks, helping families stretch their food dollars while supporting local agriculture at the same time. 🍅🥕🥬

Fresh, local food should be for everyone — and we’re grateful to have community partners like Stone Circle Farm continuing to make that possible.

Be sure to check them out this season! 🌞

What a long winter.

After Code Blue days stretched all the way into April, these last couple of weeks of warm weather — and Memorial Day weekend right around the corner — finally make it feel like summer is on its way.

As we move into a new season, The Branches Outreach would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported our Warmth for Winter Campaign this year.

Whether you donated food, warm clothing, hygiene items, sponsored extended Code Blue hours, volunteered your time, or made a financial contribution — thank you. Because of this community, our doors stayed open on some of the coldest days of the year.

This Code Blue season, The Branches extended operating hours from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 63 different days to make sure individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship had somewhere warm and safe to go.

From October through April, there were over 7,000 visits to our center and more than 10,000 meals served. Behind those numbers are people who came in cold, exhausted, hungry, overwhelmed, or simply needing somewhere to sit safely for a few hours with a cup of coffee and someone willing to listen.

Through the generosity of this community, nearly $35,000 was raised during our Warmth for Winter Campaign to help make that possible.

A special thank you to our major sponsors and supporters. These donations were earmarked specifically as sponsorships for our Warmth for Winter Campaign and helped cover costs associated with our extended code blue hours. 🩵

Meet Grace and Nouran, two amazing young women who are seniors at LCMRHS. They came to Branches today, because of a project called Helping the Homeless. They applied for and earned a grant from the Kiwanis Youth Opportunity Fund to buy and install a handwashing station, which will be installed in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, 5/20 at 3PM next to Pantry One in Erma. Part of their grant application was to make hygiene kits for those in need. They purchased items for the kits, but also got donations, most coming from Cape Resorts and Congress Hall. Today they delivered 100 of the most amazing hygiene kits to Branches for use by our guests!
It was a genuine pleasure to meet these two very bright, dedicated and engaging young women. They are headed off to college in the fall. We at Branches wish them the very best, as they pursue their hopes and dreams. We know that they are going to do amazing things!
