“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” — Ephesians 6:10

Christian, hear this clearly:

You were never called to fight sin, temptation, or the schemes of the enemy in your own strength.

Your flesh is real.
The battle is real.
But your strength… is not your own.

Too many believers live as if the victory depends on their discipline, their willpower, or their consistency. And when they fail, they spiral—discouraged, defeated, and questioning everything.

But Ephesians 6 does not say, “Be strong in yourself.”

It says: Be strong in the Lord.

That means your fight against sin is not fueled by self-effort, but by union with Christ. You are not a slave to your flesh anymore. Through Christ:

The power of sin has been broken

The dominion of the flesh has been crushed

The believer has been made new

As Romans 6 reminds us, “you are no longer slaves to sin.”

So why do we keep fighting like we are?

Stop trying to defeat sin with the same flesh that produced it.

Instead: Abide in Christ and depend on His strength and remember that we fight from a place of victory that has already been won for us!

Walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16)

Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11)

Victory is not found in trying harder—it is found in trusting deeper!

The Christian life is not about you becoming stronger in yourself…
It is about you becoming more dependent on Him.

So today, don’t fight in your own strength.

Stand firm.
Stand in grace.
Stand in Christ.

Because the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you.

Be strong… in the Lord.

REAL MEN MAKE DISCIPLES — BECAUSE JESUS COMMANDS IT

Discipleship is not a suggestion for the especially committed.
It is the clear command of Christ for every believer.

While disciple-making is not a condition of salvation, it is one of the evidences of it.

“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)

Notice the progression:

Follow → Be Changed → Multiply

A man who is truly following Christ will not remain spiritually stagnant or isolated.

He will be growing—and he will be helping others grow.

Then Jesus makes it unmistakably clear:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19–20)

THAT IS NOT RESERVED FOR PASTORS.
That is not optional for mature believers only.
That is the mission entrusted to every Christian.

So what is a disciple?

A disciple is:
• A learner under the authority of Christ
• A follower who obeys His Word
• A servant who lives for His glory
• A man who invests in others for their spiritual growth

DISCIPLESHIP IS NOT A PROGRAM—it is a pattern of life!

It looks like:
• Opening the Word together
• Speaking truth into each other’s lives
• Calling one another to repentance and faith
• Praying, sharpening, and walking in accountability

Men, we must reject passive Christianity.

The world is full of men who attend church occasionally, but never invest deeply.

Jesus calls for something far greater:

Intentional, relational, Word-centered discipleship.

If you are not being discipled—seek it out.
If you are not discipling someone—start now.

You don’t need a stage.
You need a table.
You need the Word.
You need a willing heart.

Be a disciple.
Make a disciple.

THIS IS THE CALL OF THE SAVIOR: JESUS THE LORD!

We had such an encouraging WORD from Pastor Lonnie Bone yesterday from the Gospel of Matthew 24:1–14, the disciples ask Jesus a question that believers have asked for centuries:

“WHEN?” 🥹

After Jesus tells them that the magnificent temple will be destroyed, they immediately begin thinking about the end of the age and His return as King. In their minds, everything was about to happen right away. The kingdom would come, Messiah would reign, and all things would be set right.

But Jesus’ answer reveals something they did not expect.
God’s plan would unfold over time. Instead of an immediate kingdom, Jesus speaks of deception, wars, persecution, hardship, and the global spread of the gospel before the end comes. In other words, the disciples were about to learn something every believer must eventually learn:

GOD'S TIMING IS RARELY THE SAME AS OUR EXPECTATIONS!😲💥

The disciples thought the kingdom would appear immediately. Even later in Acts of the Apostles 1:6 they were still asking, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

But the Lord had a larger plan unfolding—one that included the salvation of people from every nation, tribe, and tongue.

And this is where faith is required. Faith is not just believing that God can act.

Faith is trusting Him when He doesn’t act when we expect Him to.
Between the promise and the fulfillment lies the place where faith grows the most. How will you respond?

Jesus tells His followers that during this time there will be difficulty, deception, and spiritual testing. Yet He also gives a powerful promise:

“He who endures to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:13)

In other words, the mark of genuine faith is perseverance.

So what does trusting God’s timing look like today?

• Remaining faithful when the world grows darker.
• Refusing discouragement when evil seems to prosper.
• Continuing to proclaim the gospel while there is still time.
• Believing that God’s promises will come to pass exactly when He intends.

The King is coming....maybe just not YET.

History is moving toward that moment!

But until that day arrives, we walk by faith, not by sight—trusting that the God who controls the end of the age also governs every moment leading to it.

Stay faithful! 😉
Stay watchful! 🔥

Trust the perfect timing of God and remember that without FAITH it is impossible to please God!

From a small group of chosen men:

Discipleship is a long obedience in the same direction — just look at Abraham. It is clear that it is God's work and that it demands submission. 🫵

God didn’t call Abraham to a moment; He discipled him over a lifetime. First, “Go from your country… to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). Abraham learned to trust God’s promise when the path wasn’t clear. Then came years of waiting, stumbles, and mercy — and God kept showing up, reaffirming His covenant, and shaping a man (Genesis 15; 17; cf. James 2:23).👨‍🦳

Then came the hardest lesson: “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love… go to the land of Moriah… and offer him there as a burnt offering” (Genesis 22:2). This wasn’t a random test; it was the culmination of decades of discipleship. God called Abraham again to go and worship with his son, to bring a sacrifice — not because God delights in loss, but because real worship costs us something (cf. 2 Samuel 24:24).😳

Abraham’s response? Early obedience: “Abraham rose early in the morning… and went to the place of which God had told him” (Gen. 22:3). And steady faith: “God will provide for himself the lamb” (Gen. 22:8). On the mountain, the Angel of the LORD stopped his hand, and a ram — provided by God — took Isaac’s place (Gen. 22:11–13). The test revealed what God had been forming all along: a man who feared God more than he clung to the gift (Gen. 22:12).💥

Discipleship still looks like this: God calls, we go; He speaks, we obey — even when it costs. He trains us through waiting, through His Word, through repeated calls to worship and surrender. And in the end, we find what Abraham did: the Lord will provide (Gen. 22:14), and obedience never outruns God’s goodness.
Who are you discipling — and who is discipling you — to trust and obey the Lord like this? Let’s walk the long road together.

Twice a week our leaders meet to seek the Lord together and to spur one another on towards godliness...this post is motivated by this morning's meeting.

The church of the Lord Jesus Christ does not exist to be comfortable — we exist to be faithful.

Before ascending into heaven, our risen King stood before His disciples and declared:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” (Matthew 28:18–19)

This is not a suggestion. It is not a program. It is not merely for missionaries. It is the royal command of Christ.

The One who shed His blood for us now claims absolute authority over us. And His authority fuels His commission. Because He reigns, we go. Because He is Lord, we obey.

And He did not leave us powerless.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses…” (Acts 1:8)

Notice — not “you might be,” not “you could be,” but “you shall be.” If you belong to Christ, you are His witness. The only question is whether you are a faithful one.

We have the gospel. We have the Spirit. We have the command. What we must not have is silence.

Our neighbors are perishing. Our coworkers are without Christ. The nations rage and wander in darkness. And we hold the only message that saves — the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church, let us not grow passive in a world that is dying.

Let us pray boldly.
Let us speak clearly.
Let us love sacrificially.
Let us go intentionally.

The Great Commission is not accomplished through programs but through obedient believers who open their mouths and proclaim Christ.

May we be found faithful when our King returns.

“Here am I. Send me.”

“For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?”
— 1 Peter 4:17

The Gospel is not a casual invitation to consider—it is a divine command to be obeyed. Scripture does not speak of the Gospel as a suggestion, but as a summons from the living God who is the King of the universe. To reject it is not merely to decline an offer, but to disobey heaven itself.

Peter reminds us that judgment begins with the house of God. If God so seriously deals with His own people—disciplining, refining, purifying—what will be the end of those who do not obey the Gospel?

This is a sober call to examine ourselves and a loving warning to the world: repent, believe, and submit to Christ. The Gospel demands a response—and eternity hangs on it.

May we tremble at God’s Word, obey the Gospel, and proclaim it with clarity, urgency, and love.
