I have had many CPR classes over the years but was never told this . . . Have you ever thought about it? ❤️🤔
When you are alone and have a heart attack, what should you do immediately?
This is an important post that can't be shared often enough:
1. Take a 2-minute break and read this: Suppose it's 5:25 pm, and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
2. You're tired and frustrated. Suddenly you experience chest pains that radiate from your chest to your arms and jaw. You feel like you're being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home but you don't know if you can make it.
3. You may have taken CPR training, but the instructor didn't tell you how to help yourself. How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone? A person feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness. Pull over immediately, stop the car, and call 911!
4. You can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Take deep breaths between each cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until help arrives or until your heart starts to beat normally. Even if your heart begins to beat normally, make sure you go to the hospital.
5. Deep breathing fills your lungs and bloodstream with oxygen, Coughing forces the oxygen-rich blood into your heart. Coughing can also help restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how heart attack victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment.
6. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.☝🏻
7. FOR WOMEN 👭: Women have different and additional symptoms of a heart attack. They rarely have crushing chest pains or pain in the arms. They often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue and/or nausea.
Instead of posting jokes, you're helping save lives by spreading this message. 💞
