๐Ÿ… Archdiocese Championship Meet Highlights โ€“ Race Edition ๐Ÿ…

Simply qualifying for this meet is an accomplishment in itself, and our St. Madeline athletes represented with tremendous effort, sportsmanship, and determination.

Maeve McManus made her second consecutive Championship Meet appearance in the 800m and capped off her CYO track career with a personal best time of 2:39.18.

Novice standout Mason Dougherty delivered one of the most exciting performances of the day, slicing nine seconds off his previous 800m best. Seeded 19th entering the meet, Mason battled his way to a remarkable 9th-place finish.

In the Minor Boys 400m, both Christian and Alex turned in personal-best performances, continuing their season-long growth and hard work throughout the season.

The Minor Boys 4x100 relay team of Billy, Alex, Grayson, and Christian raced to a season-best time and an impressive 8th-place finish against the Archdiocese's top competition.

The Cadet Girls 4x100 relay team of Maeve, Arianna, Fatu, and Mae entered the meet seeded 11th but put together a tremendous race to finish 7th. The quartet knocked more than a second off their previous season best and lowered their relay time by over four seconds during the season.

The meet also marked the final races for eighth graders Maeve, Arianna, and Fatu. We thank them for their dedication to the program and for the friendships, memories, and bonds they helped create throughout their years with St. Mads.

And last but not least, Mae Somers delivered a performance worthy of the championship stage, earning a 2nd-place medal in the Cadet Girls 1600m with a personal-best time of 5:29.15. Her runner-up finish capped an outstanding season and highlighted a tremendous day for St. Madeline.

Congratulations to all of our championship qualifiers on an outstanding season. Thank you to our coaches and families for the countless hours of support that make these opportunities possible. We are proud of every athlete who wore the St. Madeline uniform this season and honored so many qualified to compete among the best in the Archdiocese.

๐Ÿ… Archdiocese Championship Meet Highlights โ€“ Field Events Edition ๐Ÿ…

On May 30th St. Madeline CYO Track & Field athletes competed at Franklin Field in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Championship Meet, closing out the season on one of the sport's most iconic stages.

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to Nora in the shot put and Billy in the long jump, who both earned the opportunity to compete at the championship meet after strong performances throughout the season.

๐Ÿฅ‰ A special shoutout to Gianna, who brought home a 6th Place Archdiocesan medal in Novice Girls Shot Put! Even more impressive, Gianna delivered a personal best by more than 1.5 feet on the biggest stage of the season.

โญ Another outstanding performance came from Da'von, who finished in the Top 10 in Cadet Boys High Jump. What makes this accomplishment even more remarkable is that this was Da'von's first year competing in track and field, and he had participated in the high jump at only two previous meets before reaching the championship level.

Congratulations to all of our field event athletes for their hard work, dedication, and the pride they brought to St. Madeline throughout the season!

๐ŸŽ“ Celebrating Our 8th Grade Bulldogs! ๐ŸŽ“

On Sunday, May 31, St. Madeline CYO proudly recognized our graduating 8th graders during a special morning that began with the 8:30 a.m. Mass and was followed by a reception in the gym with family and friends.

We are grateful for the dedication, sportsmanship, and pride these student-athletes have brought to our program over the years. Thank you for being such an important part of the St. Madeline CYO family.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We wish you the very best as you begin your high school journey. Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog! ๐Ÿพ

โšพ Bulldog Pride! โšพ

Congratulations to Rory Harley and Kevin Callahan Jr. on being selected to represent St. Madelineโ€™s 5th & 6th Grade CYO Baseball team in the All-Star Game at the Dermond Recreational Complex!

Both Bulldogs showcased their talents with strong defensive play in the infield and quality at-bats throughout the evening. Kevin also crossed the plate to score a run in the Blue Teamโ€™s hard-fought 9-6 game.

A special thank you to Coach Dennis Arthur for being there to support our players and represent the St. Madeline baseball family.

The night wrapped up with both teams congratulating one another and gathering for a group photoโ€”a great reminder of the sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun that make CYO athletics so special.

๐ŸŽ“ Senior Spotlight: Caitlin Small ๐ŸŽ“

Today we proudly celebrate Caitlin Small as she graduates from Padua Academy!

Throughout her high school career, Caitlin earned Academic High Honors and was awarded a Dean's Scholarship to attend Loyola University Maryland, where she will major in Political Science.

At Padua, Caitlin was a well-rounded student-athlete and leader. She played freshman volleyball, competed on the tennis and girls flag football teams, and was an active member of the Mock Trial team. Her commitment to faith and service was evident through Campus Ministry, where she served as a Retreat Leader, Eucharistic Minister, and Altar Server for school Masses. She also made an impact beyond the classroom as co-Vice President of the Teen Board for the nonprofit organization Girls Spark.

Caitlin's roots at St. Madeline's CYO run deep. She participated in CYO Basketball from the Clinic through 8th grade and continued in high school playing CYO basketball. She played Volleyball in grades 7-8 and earned CYO All-Star honors in 8th grade. She participated in our co-ed high school volleyball program throughout high school. She also competed in the Wilmington Diocese CYM High School Girls Volleyball League, helping her team capture a league championship in her senior year.

Caitlin has also been a dedicated leader and mentor. She founded the St. Mad's Teen Youth Group and has served as its President for the past two years. She has also volunteered as a coach for the St. Madeline Basketball Clinic for the past three years, helping introduce the game to our youngest athletes.

When asked about her favorite part of St. Madeline CYO, Caitlin didn't mention championships or awards. Instead, she shared that her favorite moments came from seeing the excitement on the faces of the little kids at Basketball Clinic when they made a shot.

Caitlin's leadership, service, faith, and commitment to helping others have left a lasting impact on the St. Madeline community. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and can't wait to see what she achieves at Loyola and beyond.

Congratulations, Caitlin! Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog!

Our St. Madeline CYO Track & Field family gathered for our end-of-year celebration filled with fun, laughter, and a little friendly competition. From the shot put station to the unforgettable "Anything But a Baton" relay, our athletes showed that they know how to have fun as well as compete. The creative relay items had everyone laughing and cheering from start to finish!

A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches and supportive families for everything you have done throughout the season. Your time, encouragement, and commitment made this season possible.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of our runners on a job well done. Whether you were racing for the first time or setting personal bests all season long, you represented St. Madeline with pride.

But we're not finished yet! Good luck to all of our athletes who qualified for tomorrow's AOP Championship Meet. We're proud of you and can't wait to cheer you on one more time.

Some games donโ€™t go your way. Thatโ€™s baseball.

But this group keeps showing up, keeps working, and keeps backing each other up every single game. No excuses, no quitting โ€” just kids learning, competing, and representing St. Madelineโ€™s the right way.

Proud of this team for sticking with it and continuing to battle all season long. โšพ๐Ÿ’ช
