It’s Back to School Time

These are the last two days we will be ringing the bell at Walmart for Christmas in July. “ Why in July?“ some people asked …. Regardless of the time of year there are those in our community who turned to us in need. Please remember every dollar put into the red kettle or mailed to the Salvation Army remains in Elk County and is used to assist friends and neighbors. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers for the work we do.

We enjoyed having the students working along side us. We couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments, enthusiasm and over all attitude during their month with us.

RIDGWAY — The Elk County Salvation Army became part of the “My Work” initiative this year through the collaboration of Elcam and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)-DuBois.

It’s a tad warmer ringing the bell in July, (Christmas in July), but the purpose behind it remains the same….. Every dollar raised in Elk County stays in Elk County and helps those who turn to us in need. We cannot do what we do without the generosity of the folks in our community. Giving Hope In DuBois is pleased to announce that our Sunday Supper outreach will be held at Showers Field, along the walkway (near portable restroom), where we will be serving a free meal to individuals in need.

We will begin serving at 2:30 PM and will continue until all food has been distributed. We invite anyone in need of a warm meal to join us, and we thank our volunteers, donors, and community partners for making this outreach possible as we continue serving our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and hope.

We are looking for volunteers to ring the bell for Christmas in July! If you have always wanted to ring the bell but cannot handle the cold-this might be for you! If you have students that need to complete community service hours-this might be for them! If you are simply looking for something to do and want to help others-this might be for you!
We are scheduling 2- and 4-hour shifts. Call today to learn more or schedule your shift. 814-772-0485. We will begin ringing on
