I wrote an e-mail to everyone for whom I have an address but thought I'd post it here as well.
It's been a long, long couple of years but it feels like spring is finally approaching meteorologically (well, maybe not today and tomorrow specifically) and psychologically. Today at Christ Church we transitioned to a mask friendly environment and personally I'm eating in restaurants and hugging folks again, but I have close friends who aren't quite there yet so I know we're all on our own recovery paths.
I spend some time on travel forums on line (I'm a Destination Expert on Trip Advisor, can you guess for which destination?) and I've seen a significant increase in European travel reports and questions about upcoming trips in the past few months.
I've talked to several of you recently about the potential for travel, I know we've all missed it but I'd like to know how we're all feeling about getting back into it. Are we ready? Is it too soon? Maybe our destinations need to change, at least initially?
Rather than send out a survey, which would limit us to the questions I think to ask, I'd like to have a conversation of sorts via e-mail and facebook. Please let me know what you're thinking and how you're feeling about the possibility for travel.
As food for thought, Fr. Tom and I have been tossing around several ideas, from stepping back into our historical European trips right away, to looking at destinations closer to home (Montreal and Quebec City came up, for example, or many parts of the States).
I look forward to chatting with you.
