Pastor Cheri continued her sermon series on prayer this Sunday with the message, "One Minute with God.” Luke 18:1 tells us, “They should always pray and not give up.”

One Minute. One Prayer. One Church Family.

Prayer is powerful. God can change things in the blink of an eye. Imagine what He can do when an entire church family takes just one minute each day to pray together.

Pastor Cheri shared a wonderful illustration with the children, showing how a single drop of water added to a jar may not seem like much at first, but over time those drops fill the jar. In the same way, our one-minute prayers, offered faithfully day after day, can accomplish miraculous things through God's power.

She shared a story about a group of college students who went to visit the home of John Wesley, the famous reformer who led a wave of spiritual renewal in the 1700s and founded the Methodist movement. They noticed there were indentions on the floor of his room where he knelt to pray each day. After the tour, the class loaded on their bus. When the teacher counted, there was one missing. He went back through the property looking for the student and found him kneeling in those imprints praying, “Do it again, Lord. Do it again!” The teacher quietly walked up, tapped Billy Graham on the shoulder and let him know they had to leave.

What a reminder that prayer matters. One minute may seem small, but when God's people pray, lives are changed, hearts are transformed, and God moves in mighty ways.

Pastor Cheri's sermon this morning was the first in a series of messages on prayer. The title of the sermon was "It's One O'Clock Prayer Time."

Drawing from Colossians 4:2 — "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful" — and 1 Thessalonians 5:17 — "Pray continually" — we are beginning a special 1:00 PM Prayer Time during the months of June and July.

One Minute. One Prayer. One Church Family.

Through prayer, God can change things in the blink of an eye. Imagine what He can do through one minute of prayer each day when an entire church family joins together.

Take the prayer card you received on Sunday, write down your prayer requests, and commit to praying for them for one minute each day at 1:00 PM. As we join together in prayer throughout June and July, let's watch and see what God will do!

A group of ladies from Cypress enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Camellia Manor. It was a delightful afternoon filled with good food, great fellowship, and plenty of laughter. We enjoyed spending time together and making special memories. We missed those who were unable to attend and hope you'll be able to join us next time. It was truly an enjoyable day for everyone! 🌸❤️🍽️
