Don't forget that tonight at 5pm we will have our first quarterly meeting together. This will be where you get all of the details about what is up and coming. There will be formal business and informal business. You will get calendar updates for the rest of the year, a time for volunteer sign ups, some snacks and maybe even a free give away or two.

It looks like they have added an emphasis on kids ministry as well. If you teach in any capacity, it is highly likely this afternoon conference will (edify) build you up. You should consider attending.

Have you lost a loved one recently? Have you grieved properly, whatever that might mean? Whether recent or a distant memory, losing a loved one affects us all in different ways. Walking that journey alone is never a good idea. As, the church we are called to mourn with those who mourn and to help bear one another's burdens. That requires two parties and chances are we could all be one of those parties at any moment. Griefshare is a more formal way for us to walk this path together. Currently, you can join a group at Portland First Baptist Church on Sundays at 2pm. Beginning Sep 13th, Greenbrier First Baptist Church will begin hosting their group, at 2pm as well. I highly encourage anyone who is grieving or who has never processed their grief to attend. Most of these groups last about 2 months. You do not have to go alone, you can bring a loved one. And if you have no one, but want to go, please reach out to me, and we will go.
