May is National Foster Care Month, and we want to share how we recently had the opportunity to support two local foster families.

Last week, we received separate requests from foster families for two cribs and two car seats. We are thankful that we had the needed items on hand and were able to come alongside these families with support.

When foster parents accept a new placement, children often arrive very quickly, leaving little time to prepare. Once they say yes, there usually is not a pause button that gives them extra time to gather everything they need. Because of your generosity, we were able to respond quickly and help provide safe, essential items for these children.

Foster families are doing the hard work, and we are grateful to play a small role in supporting them on their journey.

Food. Clothing. Hope. Your generosity makes all of this possible. This is the heart of The Resource Center.

And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews 13:16

Earlier this week, we received a call from a friend who was helping a single mother in need. She had been homeless, living in her car, while her two daughters stayed with their grandmother. Recently, she secured housing, a huge step toward regaining custody of her children.

She had an inspection scheduled that afternoon and still needed several essentials to turn her house into a home. Our team quickly gathered lamps, side tables, towels, furniture, as well as clothes and shoes for both girls.

As our volunteers worked to pull everything together, our friend left to get her husband’s truck to transport the items. At that moment, we realized we didn’t have a couch to send with her. But before she even made it back, a couch was donated.

All of this came together within just a couple of hours on a weekday morning.

God is good all the time, and His timing is perfect.

We are currently assisting several families who are in need of microwaves. If you have an extra one you’re no longer using or aren’t sure what to do with, we would be glad to take it.

Your donation will go directly into the hands of someone who truly needs it.

Your team of volunteers came in this past week and made an incredible impact. We haven’t seen our warehouse this clean in… a long time. What might seem like a simple act of service has made a huge difference for us.

Because of your hard work, we’re now able to focus more fully on what matters most, meeting the needs of our community.

We are so grateful for your time, energy, and willingness to serve. It does not go unnoticed.

Students who need volunteer community service hours (or parents who just want to get them out of the house for a couple of hours!) we have several opportunities open this week at The Resource Center. If there are any boys available, we could use some muscle to move furniture, especially on Thursday morning.

Volunteers are needed at The Resource Center at 238 Lake Harbour Drive, Ridgeland, MS, 39157. The Resource Center provides food and clothing for those in need completely free. We are excited to see what the Lord will do through the Resource Center in March. We will be open on Tuesday, March 3rd, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, and on March 17th from 9:00 - 10:30 am.

We are grateful to partner with so many incredible churches and organizations in our community. A special thank you to Northminster Baptist Church, Let’s Get Organized, and The Orchard for their continued support and generosity.

Because of these partnerships, we recently had the opportunity to assist families impacted by a house fire and individuals affected by domestic violence. Together, we are able to step in during some of life’s most difficult moments and provide tangible help and hope when it’s needed most.

Food. Clothing. Hope. Your generosity makes all of this possible. This is the heart of the Resource Center.
