First Church of Christ, Scientist, Ridgefield, CT The healing power of God is alive and well in the 21st Century. Are you looking for a healing church, a church to support you on your spiritual journey?

We would love to welcome you to one of our services. (See times below)

Our services are simple, straightforward, and prayerful. There is no pageantry. We listen to the Word of God and engage with its message. All the activities of our church focus on healing. In fact, at our Wednesday evening meetings, you will hear members share how God has healed them of a wide range of problems: sickness, dise

ase, financial and employment difficulties, emotional and relationship problems, to mention a few. Spiritual healing is not a gift for a chosen few. God's healing love is present for everyone. We believe prayer, based on the deep spiritual message of the Bible, is the most powerful and effective tool to be used in resolving problems and healing difficulties, individually and collectively. Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This is true today just as it was 2,000 years ago. And the result is healing. Again, we would love to welcome you to one of our services. And your children are always welcome in our Sunday School, where they learn the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and how to pray and put the teachings of Jesus into practice in their daily lives. Services:

10:30 am – Sunday Worship
10:30 am – Sunday School (through age 19)
8:00 pm – Wednesday testimony meeting

Nursery care is always available for infants and toddlers to young for services or Sunday School. NOTE: The world-wide Christian Science Church was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879 "to commemorate the word and works of our Master [Christ Jesus], which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." Our church is an active part of this healing movement.

From one of our members:

Do you have a strong sense of purpose in your life but it seems things keep getting in the way of you doing what God has called you to do?

Or maybe you're still waiting to see what God wants you to do with your life.

Sometimes, even when we know what God's will is for our lives, we haven't really pursued it because somehow we're waiting to get permission and approval from someone else.

This week's podcast episode is all about not waiting for someone to give you permission to do what God has called you to do.

https://thebiblespeakstoyou.com/you-dont-need-permission-to-do-what-god-has-called-you-to-do/

When will you do what God has called you to do? David didn't ask permission to fight Goliath. Peter didn't ask permission to preach on the Day of Pentecost.

From one of our members:

How does God take away our sins?

If you asked most Christians what takes away our sins, most of them would say it's the blood of Jesus.

They're referring, of course, to Jesus's death on the cross.

But there's more to forgiveness than just the fact that Jesus was crucified and his blood was shed.

Unfortunately, I rarely hear Christians talk about something that is just as important as the crucifixion when it comes to our sins being forgiven: the resurrection.

Paul talks about this in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 15, and says unless Jesus has risen, which of course he has, the crucifixion, just by itself, cannot take away our sins.

The question is: Why does the resurrection take away our sins and save us?

Does the blood of Jesus save you from your sins? That's what most Christians believe, but Paul says something even more important is required for forgiveness.

Have you ever wondered if God still loves you?

All too often we think of all the mistakes we've made or the things that have happened to us, and somehow decide God must not love us anymore, that we're not worthy of His love.

But no matter what you've done (or not done that you should have), no matter what mistakes you've made, big or small, God still loves you. It's as simple as that.

Why do we make it so complicated?

In this week's episode, I share some of my personal journey to actually accepting and believing that God really does love me. I'm curious if you have gone through a similar process.

You may know without a doubt that God loves you and may not feel this episode is for you, but please think of someone you may know who would really appreciate the message. And share it with them.

Have you ever wondered if God still loves you? Because of our mistakes we often think God doesn't love us anymore. Discover the reason why God loves you.

You can conquer your problems through Christ.

Last week in my Bible study class at the prison, a woman shared a Scripture that had made a big difference in her life.

It's from Romans, Chapter 8, verse 37: "we are more than conquerors." She kept asking, "What does it mean to be more than a conqueror?"

I'd never thought about that before. Who and what are you after God has healed you or solved your problem? Who and what are you after you have conquered a challenge?

Well, it's really who you've been all along as a child of God.

This week's podcast episode is all about how to conquer whatever problems you may have, big or small, and more importantly, why you can overcome them.

No matter what challenges we face globally or in our personal lives, we are more than conquerors through Christ. Three key lessons on victory through Christ.

From one of our members:

If you could ask Jesus to do something for you, what would it be?

If you had met Jesus 2,000 years ago while as he was traveling around healing and ministering to people, what would you ask him for? A healing? Deliverance from a problem? The answer to a burning question in your heart?

Lots of people came up to Jesus to ask for all sorts of things. Sometimes he granted their requests and sometimes he didn't.

There's so much to learn from these folks who approached Jesus with a request.

In this week's podcast episode I talk about why Jesus answered some requests and why he didn't answer others and how we can pray more effectively.

If you could ask Jesus to do something for you, what would it be? People asked Jesus for lots of things. Some requests he granted, some he didn't. Learn why.

Have you ever found yourself in the Bible?

So many people these days are trying to “find themselves.” They’re trying to figure out who they are, trying to discover or create their identity.

Unfortunately, a lot of folks leave out the most important facet in their search, their spiritual identity as a child of God.

What if we looked at people in the Bible, who had many of the same struggles and challenges we do, and could learn something from them about who we are.

In this week's podcast episode I explore the lives of a wide variety of Bible characters (some of them really were characters!) to see what you and I can learn from them about ourselves.

Have you ever thought about how to find yourself in the Bible? What can you learn about yourself by exploring the lives of these 20+ characters in the Bible

Following Christ in 2024.

Don't you love the promise of a new year, with all the possibilities for progress it brings?

But with all the challenges in the world today, before we start a new project or try to solve a problem, what we actually need is to get to know God a little better and follow Christ a little more closely.

Unfortunately, sometimes we start comparing ourselves to others on the path of following Christ.

Ans all too often we take our eyes off the Shepherd and get absorbed in what the other sheep are doing.

No matter what happens on a personal or global level, it's really important to keep our eyes on the Shepherd and follow Christ. That’s what this week’s podcast episode is all about.

It's time to stop comparing yourself to others and being distracted with all that's going on in the world today. Whatever comes your way, just follow Christ.

What are you expecting to get for Christmas this year?

Remember that sense of expectation you had as a kid at Christmastime? There was so much anticipation for what presents you'd get.

What if you could have that same sense of expectation for all that Christ is giving you this Christmas?

Have you ever stopped to think about all that Jesus has given us? Some of the more obvious things are his love, his joy, and his peace.

Christ is pouring forth infinite, boundless, unlimited blessings, most important of which is a full salvation from the world’s evil, along with the awareness that we are the sons and daughters of God.

This is Christ’s gift to you this Christmas (and every day). How much of this gift will you accept?

Are you expecting anything from Christ for Christmas this year? Usually we think of what we'll get from friends and family, but what will Christ give you
