According to Roman 6 we are dead and no longer should we partake of our sinful nature. We now live in Christ and in that became servants of God and our fruit should be holiness and only then will the end be eternal life. Verse 22 is pretty clear in that our fruit is to be unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
This clearly states that our life is to be one of holiness and godliness. If we are not living that then we are not upright before God. Meaning we are not walking in the righteousness of Jesus.
This scripture does away with the mentality of grace covering the sinful life rather it teaches that when we are dead and allowing Christ to live through us our life will reflect the grace given us and holiness will be the fruit of that death.
We must die to love Holy. No way around it because our nature our desire and our hearts are inherently evil. Without the covering of the blood of Jesus and the acceptance of His death we cannot live.
