This may sound strange but when I was just a young girl I can remember my old pastor saying that she wasn't certain that we would even see 1968. I look back through the years now and I can't even imagine what 1968 was even like anymore. Here we are in 2026 and I'm still looking for the return of Jesus Christ. And I believe this just is firmly today is what I did all those years ago. The apostles were looking for the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ and his children of God we are instructed to do the same. We must remain diligent, faithful, and with a fervent love, longing for him and looking for his return. 2 Peter chapter 3 verses 10 11 12 13 and 14 says this. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, and the works that are there in shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness. Looking for and hastening unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.
Let us be watchful because the day of the Lord will certainly come as thief in the night and we don't know what day or what hour he'll return. Therefore, let us remain faithful until the coming of the Lord.
