The anti-theist’s problem is not so much with the existence of God as with the character of God…In my own experience, talking with non-Christian students, again and again I find that when they describe the God they don’t believe in, he sounds more like Satan than the loving Father of Jesus Christ: greedy, selfish, trigger-happy and entirely devoid of love. And if God is not Father, Son, and Spirit, aren’t they right?

Dear Good Shepherd OPC,

This Sunday night, November 27, 2022 we will have a Thanksgiving Service. Last year we did this and some of you will remember it was very encouraging. It was a time of great joy and great thanksgiving. I would ask you in order to prepare for this service to think about some things for which you are thankful and to prepare to share them with the congregation. There will be two separate times during the service when you may come forward and share. We are focusing on how the Lord has blessed us physically and spiritually. We will pray, we will have a short message, but your praises and your thanksgivings to the Lord for the great and the small things He has done for you will be our focus!

In the past, people have come forward with a grocery list of items for which they are thankful. Also, others have come with many notes and with a story to read or an outline of what they have to say. And of course, you can prepare without notes. But come ready to share from a full heart, what you are learning, your trials and how the Lord has met you in the midst of them, etc.

The Lord bless you at Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to a wonderful Lord’s day,
