The Diocese of Virginia was glad to host the annual Bishops Executive Assistants Together (B+E+S+T) conference in May in Alexandria. Nearly 80 executive assistants gathered from across the U.S., Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Honduras, with all meetings held at historic Christ Church in Old Town. Twelve bishops from Province III took part, including all three of our own, and the Rev. Shirley Smith Graham served as a keynote speaker and workshop leader. We're grateful to everyone who made the week possible.

What would it take for congregations to become places where all ages truly belong? This question shaped a recent gathering of the Pathways to Prayer and Practice cohort, as leaders from across the Diocese of Virginia met with Canon Wendy Claire Barrie to reflect on intergenerational ministry and worship.

Building on earlier work recognizing the gifts already present in congregations, participants explored how relationships across generations form the foundation of shared faith.

All are invited to the sixth annual Community Juneteenth Celebration, hosted jointly by St. John’s, St. Philip’s, St. Peter’s, and Calvary Hanover Episcopal Churches, with financial support also from St. Paul’s.

In addition to celebrating Juneteenth as the day of African American freedom, the event celebrates the history of the historic Black Episcopal churches of the Richmond area and the collaboration with St. John’s, which was instrumental in the founding of St. Peter’s.
