Mindfulness is importantant for everyone and is especially helpful in recovery. It is the practice of maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment through a gentle, nurturing, and non-judgmental lens.The core concept boils down to being actively present and observing experiences rather than reacting to them or getting lost in thought.

One week ago, a group of men in recovery gathered together to build endurance, strength, and relationships through exercise, food and fellowship. Our almost monthly gathering of Slingshot! is a safe place for men to gather together to experience community. Thanks to our volunteers and our host and to our guests from and Let’s do it again on June 6th at Echo Lake Park with Let’s Go!!!

Still thinking about our Monday faith-based class at Imagine the Freedom. It’s amazing what God does in your life when you think you’re there to help someone else. We have such a beautiful group of tender-hearted people each week. God is at work here and I am so blessed to be part of it!
