Caring for Creation Week 1 – Seeing God in Creation
Scripture: Romans 1:20
Devotional: “God Is Speaking Through Creation”
Sometimes we look at creation simply as something beautiful. We see a sunrise, a mountain, a river, a flower, or the night sky and say, “That is beautiful.” But Romans 1:20 invites us to look deeper. Creation is not only beautiful—it is revealing. The invisible qualities of God can be seen through what God has made. The earth becomes a kind of sanctuary. The trees, oceans, animals, stars, and changing seasons remind us that we are surrounded by the fingerprints of our Creator. The question is not simply, “Do I appreciate creation?” The deeper question is, “Am I paying attention to what creation is telling me about God?” When we care for creation, we are responding to a gift God has placed in our hands.
Reflection: What part of God’s creation most helps you recognize God’s presence?
Practice: Take 10 minutes outside without your phone. Look, listen, and give God thanks for five things you see.
Prayer: Creator God, open our eyes to see your presence in the world around us. Teach us to
appreciate your creation and to care for what you have entrusted to us. Amen.
