*OPENING HYMN - “Tell Me the Stories of Jesus” Hymnal 277

PRAYER OF TRUST IN CHRIST
O Lord, we magnify your name in all the earth trusting in you wondrous power and love. Yes, Father, when your Son entered Jerusalem, people laid down their garments for his path. When we pull off our false righteousness and lay it at Christ's feet we allow Him to enter our hearts. This is Holy Week – beginning with a triumphal entrance but ending in Your mighty sacrifice of atonement for all. You have loved each of us as if there were only one of us. If we would lay ourselves at the altar of your Son, there is no telling what He would do with us and through us. Forgive our arrogance, replacing it with such strong desire to walk by your side. For we all understand: no palms, no pain, no thorns, no throne, no gall, no cross, no glory, no crown. Palm Sunday tells us that it is the Cross which is the true Tree of Life. Amen

Humble Savior, you ride into our lives not with force, but with invitation—calling us to follow, to risk, and to trust. PRAYER FOR OURSELVES IN SOCIETY
Omniscient and all-powerful Lord, I know I am not better than others. I am not your sole concern. Let me have my solitude with you in prayer; but let me
also engage the stranger. Let me hear your heavenly music; but also that of Mozart, Vivaldi, F***y Crosby, Miles Davis, Dolly and Snoop. Let me be forever seeking your next task for this sinful world. Please keep it small; for you know I can talk a good game but can also fail to score. I will try to stay out of your way. Give me strength in my weakness and calm in my trials. Allow me to see just how in love with me you are so I can shout your praises on all the highways in this life. Amen. (Frank Howarth)
