Leah spent years searching for peace.

She grew up in the Philippines surrounded by religion, but wanted nothing to do with Christianity. Even after building the life she thought would satisfy her, she woke up every morning carrying a heaviness she couldn’t explain.

One day, while searching online for encouragement, she came across Proverbs 3:5–6.

That moment changed everything.

Through God’s Word, Leah found the hope she had been missing. She gave her life to Christ, was discipled by her church family, and began asking the Lord to use her however He desired.

Today, Leah serves long-term in South Asia — a place where access to the gospel is limited and following Jesus can come with serious cultural and political risks.

She has learned the language.
She is building relationships.
And now local believers are boldly sharing the good news with others.

What started with one woman searching for hope online is now helping unreached people hear the name of Jesus.

Pray for Leah and the local believers serving alongside her.

🙏 Pray for boldness and protection.
🙏 Pray for open hearts.
🙏 Pray for new believers to grow strong in faith.

The world is gathering.

Soon, millions will cross borders, fill stadiums, raise flags, and celebrate together during the World Cup.

But behind every crowd is a person.
A story.
A soul who may have never heard the hope of Jesus.

Right now, believers around the world are preparing to meet people in this historic moment with the gospel.

This isn’t just about a sport.
It’s about the nations.

Would you pray with us for the people who will be reached during the World Cup?

Keegan Cullen says learning to explain the gospel to children prepared him for missions in Spain.

After open heart surgery before college, Keegan realized God had given him a second chance at life. Around the same time, Karmen — though raised in church — realized she didn’t truly know Jesus for herself.

Everything changed through Baptist Collegiate Ministries.

“When I started reading the Bible on my own … I finally understood who Jesus is,” Karmen shared. “It was life changing.”

The two met at the University of West Florida, grew in their faith together during the stillness of the COVID pandemic, and later served as Journeymen in Spain, where they helped start a college ministry from the ground up.

“There was nothing there,” Keegan said. “The Lord was faithful.”

Now the Cullens have returned to Spain to help plant churches in a city of 100,000 people — including 30,000 college students — in an area without an IMB presence for years.

And surprisingly, Keegan says children’s ministry prepared him for this moment.

“I loved conveying deep gospel truths to 5- to 10-year-olds using a ‘children’s language.’ It made the message much easier for non-Christians to understand.”

In remote Himalayan villages, prosthetics ministry is helping open doors for gospel conversations.

Healthcare skills can create access to places and people that might otherwise never hear the gospel.

IMB workers Aaron and Sidney Barr partnered with a local prosthetist to serve people living with amputations in East Asia — building relationships while meeting real physical needs.

“Meeting physical needs has really opened doors and given us a way into the community.” — Sidney Barr

Before you finish reading this caption, hundreds more lives will enter eternity without hearing the gospel.

Not statistics. People.

Parents. Children. Neighbors. Entire communities across South Asia.

Each red dot on this map represents 50,000 people living without the hope of Christ.

Across South Asia, nearly 1.9 billion people live among thousands of people groups — many with little to no access to the gospel.

But this map is not only a picture of need.

It’s a call to pray.

🙏 Pray for those who have never heard the name of Jesus.
🙏 Pray for believers faithfully sharing the gospel in difficult places.
🙏 Pray for churches to be planted among unreached peoples across South Asia.

Several years ago, Lauren Hou left the place that had always felt like home.

As a missionary kid, she had grown up overseas. And like many of them, Lauren didn’t initially feel comfortable in the U.S. after she first arrived to attend university.

But coming to the U.S. for college brought new questions—about identity, belonging, and what “home” really meant.

At first, she thought she wanted to return to the mission field because it felt familiar.

But over time, God began to change her heart.

What once felt like comfort became something deeper—a calling rooted in surrender, not just familiarity.

“I felt convicted to give all my plans to the Lord. I had to surrender staying in America if that’s what God wanted me to do. I was saying I want to go overseas because that’s what’s most comfortable for me, not because I am truly desiring to take the gospel.” — Lauren Hou

God pressed upon her heart that His plan was for her to go to the nations. Though His command was to go, a season of staying in the U.S. came first.

Today, Lauren is serving overseas, following where God has led her.

Stories like hers remind us: calling isn’t always immediate. Sometimes, it’s shaped over time.

As we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we celebrate Asian American missionaries like Lauren who take the gospel to the nations.

Thank you, South Carolina Baptist, for your generous partnership in the Great Commission.

During last week’s IMB trustee meeting, South Carolina Baptists presented a $1 million gift to support renovations at the International Learning Center, an investment that will help strengthen missionary training, care and sending for years to come.

“South Carolina is a sending state.” — Tony Wolfe, executive director-treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention

We’re grateful for churches and believers who continue to pray, give and send so that the gospel can be proclaimed among the nations. 🌍

Forty days after Jesus rose from the grave, He ascended into heaven—proving His power over death. Ascension season provides another opportunity to declaring that the gospel is for every nation.

During this time, a digital engagement team is sharing videos about the life of Jesus online with the Coffee People.

Previous videos during Ramadan have proven successful — reaching more than 1 million views each and receiving messages from 4,500 people with questions about Jesus. Some were skeptical. Some were angry. But many were hungry, searching for truth.

“As I talked to people on the phone, they went from being harsh and combative online to calm and willing to listen,” Braden shared. “Many seemed genuinely glad to have their questions answered.”

In places where openly following Christ can be difficult, these conversations matter.

🙏 Pray that every message and follow up conversation would lead searching hearts to Jesus.

🙏 Pray that those asking questions online would discover the freedom, peace, and hope found only in Him.
