This week on the Group Chat Podcast: "The Church and the World"

The Group Chat Podcast is a discipleship podcast for the community groups of Remnant Church, hosted by a rotating panel of our pastors. We will explore all manner of topics as we seek to form mature disciples who love Christ, his church, and his world.

This season we are returning to our study of systematic theology, taking a deeper look at specific doctrines and why they matter. These conversations will be biblical, theological, pastoral, and practical.

The Gospel of Mark announces the good news that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the long-awaited King. Through his teaching, miracles, and authority over sin, sickness, demons, and death, Jesus reveals that God’s kingdom has come near. Yet he is not the king people expect: he came not to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Mark shows that Jesus’ glory is revealed most clearly through his suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection. Those who recognize him as the Christ are therefore called not merely to admire him, but to repent, believe the gospel, deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow him. Because the crucified King has risen, his people can follow him with faith and hope as they proclaim the good news to all nations.

Join us this Sunday as we begin our new sermon series in the book of Mark: "Who is Jesus?"
