Celebrating Retirement After 50 Years of Service!
Sunday, April 19 - 10:00 A.M. at Landmark Baptist Church
Ken and Nancy Crain moved from Missouri in May of 1976 to join the staff of Landmark Baptist Church and Christian School in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Ken Crain served in education for thirty-eight years, including twenty-eight years as principal of Landmark Christian School. In recent years, he has faithfully served as the treasurer and business administrator of the church and school.
Mrs. Nancy Crain has dedicated forty-five years to teaching at Landmark Christian School. In recent years, she has served as the school’s account administrator and continues to faithfully care for and organize the church facilities each week.
For the past fifty years, the members of our church and the students of our school have been blessed by the Crains’ hard work, sacrifice, and devotion. Hundreds of families have been impacted by their commitment to Jesus Christ and their lifelong faithfulness in the ministries of Landmark.
Their lives are a testament to 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
We are honored to celebrate their fifty-year anniversary with a special day on April 19, 2026. We will recognize and honor them during the 10:00 A.M. service followed by a catered meal where we will share some special testimonies and gifts. This will be a time to reflect together on God’s faithfulness through their years of service.
There are several ways you can participate:
1. Write a Personal Note of Gratitude
Share a word of thanks, a special memory, or how they have impacted your life. Cards and notes may be placed in the offering box in the church foyer, mailed to 4000 Creighton Road, Henrico, VA 23223, or emailed to [email protected]. All messages will be presented to them on April 19.
2. Submit a Photo or Video Testimony
If you have a photo from your time at LCS or LBC that includes the Crains, please email it to [email protected] or send it via direct message to the school’s social media account.
You may also submit a short video message expressing your thanks. Please include your name, your years at LCS (if applicable), and a brief message of gratitude.
3. Attend the Recognition Service and Meal
All are welcome to attend on April 19. If you do not regularly attend Landmark Baptist Church, please register online for the meal so we can prepare accordingly. See the link in the comments for registration info.
