Outline and Sermon Snapshot for the sermon this morning

It’s one of the most common concepts in modern religion, but is it found in the Bible? In this clip, Mike challenges the idea of the "sinner's prayer" as a biblical foundation for salvation, arguing instead for the pattern of confessing Jesus as the Son of God and being immersed into him.

He doesn't hold back, tackling difficult topics like the necessity of ongoing repentance after baptism and addressing the popular teaching of "once saved, always saved." If you want to know what the Bible actually teaches about your relationship with the Lord, this is a message you need to hear.

It’s About Growth, Not a Checklist

As we continue through June 2026, remember that this journey is about genuine spiritual growth, not just "checking a box" for the day. Our goal is to let these scriptures transform our perspective and our priorities. If you missed a few days or are just joining us for the first time—don’t worry! Just jump right in with us today. The path to growth is always open, and there is no "behind" in this study.

Today’s Reading

In 2 Kings 17–18, we reach a tragic and pivotal turning point in the history of God's people as the northern kingdom of Israel falls to Assyria and is carried away into exile due to persistent idolatry and a refusal to heed prophetic warnings. The narrative then shifts to the southern kingdom of Judah, where the faithful King Hezekiah ascends the throne, institutes massive spiritual reforms, and boldly removes the high places, anchoring his trust entirely in the Lord as the Assyrian threat knocks at his own gates. Turning to the book of Psalms, Psalms 56–57 capture David’s raw, profound prayers of trust while under intense persecution from his enemies. Even when gripped by fear, the psalmist resolves to praise God's word and take ultimate refuge beneath the shadow of His wings, confident that God will fulfill His purpose. This video is designed to help you focus on the text without distraction, featuring modern visuals and a clear, read-along experience.

We live in a culture that loves to hear whatever makes it feel comfortable. Spiritually speaking, there are always people looking for "itching ears"—they want to be tickled by ideas that sound nice rather than challenged by what is true.

In this clip, Mike lays down a sobering truth for anyone called to lead: everything outside of Scripture is ultimately a myth. It might sound like the truth, it might be presented as the truth, but if it doesn't align with God’s Word, it is an illusion. When the world says an action is perfectly fine, but God calls it a compromise, a courageous leader doesn't back down.

True, biblical leadership means having the backbone to stand firm and speak the truth anyway, even when people don't want to hear it. Watch the full message to understand how to protect your heart from the myths of this culture and find real freedom in God's word.

When you hear the word "leader," what comes to mind? A corporate executive? A politician?

In this powerful clip, Mike breaks down the reality of biblical leadership. True leadership belongs to our shepherds, deacons, activity coordinators, and Bible teachers—but it also belongs to every dad, every mom, and any young person setting an example for friends who don’t know Christ. Leadership is for almost everyone.

Leaning into Paul’s strict charge to Timothy, He reminds us that courageous leaders are called to preach the word and tell the truth "in season and out of season." That means sharing God's truth when people want to hear it, and standing firm with it when they don't.

Verse of the Day

06/13/2026

What do you do when the culture or critics around you try to redefine what is right? True leadership demands the courage to stand firm, challenge the status quo, and do the right thing—regardless of the personal cost.

In this clip, Mike explores an incident where Jesus was confronted by religious leaders while preparing to heal a man with a withered arm on the Sabbath day. Knowing their critical thoughts, Jesus leaned directly into the confrontation. He boldly asked them if they would rescue their own donkey from a ditch on the Sabbath, proving their hypocrisy. Jesus demonstrated that a child of God bound by hardship deserves restoration, even if it breaks traditional assumptions.

True leaders have the courage to look at the people they love and tell them the truth they need to hear. They possess the backbone to stand up against opposition and declare, "No, this is right." Watch the full message to explore how biblical courage empowers us to choose truth over convenience.

2 Kings 15-16 & Psalm 55 | June 13th | 2026 Global Bible Journey

Today’s Reading

In 2 Kings 15–16, we chart a turbulent period of political instability and spiritual decline across both kingdoms. We witness a rapid succession of kings in Israel—including Azariah, Zechariah, and Menahem—marked by conspiracy and compromise, while in Judah, the narrative highlights the wicked reign of Ahaz, who completely rejects God's paths and introduces pagan altars into the temple complex. Turning to the book of Psalms, Psalm 55 captures David’s intense emotional distress in the face of betrayal by a close friend. He pours out his anguish, famously wishing for wings like a dove to fly away and find rest, before ultimately resolving to cast his cares upon the Lord, confident that God will sustain the righteous. This video is designed to help you focus on the text without distraction, featuring modern visuals and a clear, read-along experience.

It takes courage to lead, but it takes a special kind of bravery to speak hard truths to those closest to you.

In this clip, Mike looks at how Jesus consistently chose truth over social comfort, even with his inner circle and his own family. When Peter tried to talk Jesus out of going to the cross, Jesus didn't hold back: "Get behind me, Satan." Later, when Jesus was just 12 years old and his worried mother found him teaching in the temple, he spoke with absolute clarity about his true calling: "Why did you not know that I must be about my Father's business?"

True biblical leadership doesn't sugarcoat reality or compromise just to keep the peace. If you want to build relationships and communities that stand the test of time, you have to be willing to tell the truth. Watch the full message to find out how to balance truth and love when the stakes are high.
