In 1945, a group of Christians began dreaming of a church in Richmond, which, though rooted in Baptist heritage, would be open to people of all Christian faiths. River Road Church was constituted in 1946 and today the congregation continues to grow and foster that dream. For questions or comments contact [email protected]. We invite you to join us for worship this Sunday, September 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The service will also be broadcast live at youtube.com/riverroadchurch and rrcb.org/live, and the livestream will begin at 10:50 a.m. with pre-worship music.

We welcome Rev. Dr. David Breckenridge, Minister of Pastoral Care, to the pulpit as our guest preacher on Sunday morning.

We welcome Greg Vick as our guest organist this week.

This Sunday we will celebrate communion. For those worshiping at home, please gather elements prior to worship if you are able—crackers or bread, juice—whatever you have that is the closest. Sincerity and the meaning of sharing in Christ together are most important. For those worshiping in the Sanctuary, we will pass the communion plates during worship, but for those who prefer the pre-packaged cup and wafer or gluten free wafer, you may pick one up from the basket in the narthex or balcony before worship.

September is here, which means Celebration Sunday is just around the corner!

Mark your calendar for September 13, 4:30–6:30 p.m. on the Plaza for an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship.

🍗 An early covered-dish supper with fried chicken and drinks provided
🥗 Bring a potluck dish—A-H: dessert | I-Z: salad or side
🦪 The oyster roast is back by popular demand!
🎪 Lawn games, a bounce house, and more
💧 And, of course, the dunking booth returns!

For 80 years, River Road Church has been nurturing the sacred joy of music-making in young people—from preschool through high school. And there’s always room for another voice! 🎵

Our children’s and youth choirs are free and open to singers of all experience levels. Whether your child has been singing for years or is simply curious about making music, there’s a place for them to learn, grow, have fun, and share their gifts.

Choirs rehearse on Sundays, and sing in Sunday worship a few times each semester, with special appearances on Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, Youth Sunday, and more.
