The Richmond Pops Band provided a free concert on Sunday, May 31st at Tuckahoe. The music was wonderful, with a mix of favorite melodies and songs in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

We could not have asked for a more perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy the start of summer!

This Sunday at Tuckahoe, we celebrated Trinity Sunday and our annual Blessing of the Animals.

Together we remembered a simple but profound truth from Genesis: God created the world and called it good. From the birds of the air to the creatures that crawl, from our beloved pets to one another, all creation belongs to God and reflects God’s care and delight.

Our animals teach us something holy. They remind us to slow down, be present, offer unconditional love, and find joy in the simple gifts of life. As we gathered with furry, feathered, and beloved companions, we gave thanks for the ways they enrich our lives and help us experience God’s love.

May we continue to be faithful stewards of creation, caring for all living things and joining the chorus of praise that has been singing since the beginning.

“All God’s critters have a place in the choir.”
Thanks be to God.

Join us Sunday, May 31 at 10:30am for our annual Blessing of the Animals at Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church!

As part of our Fifth Sunday worship and our commitment as an Earth Care Congregation, we invite you to bring your well-behaved pets (on leashes or in carriers) for a special blessing during worship. Stuffed animals and photos of beloved pets are welcome too!

Weather permitting, we’ll gather outside on the plaza. In case of rain, we’ll worship in Duntreath Hall.

We’ll also be collecting freshly washed towels and blankets for local animal control.

Come celebrate the joy, love, and companionship of God’s creatures with us!

Sometimes we keep looking up, waiting for clarity, waiting for answers, waiting for God to do something next.

But the story of the Ascension reminds us that Jesus sends us out into the world — to love boldly, serve faithfully, and become the body of Christ for one another.

This Sunday at Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church, Rev. Keli Shipley Cooper reflects on Luke 24 and Acts 1 in the sermon “We Keep Looking Up…” — a reminder that faith isn’t only about where we look, but how we live.

May we stop standing still.
May we turn our gaze outward.
May we go and be the church.

Join us Sunday at 10:30am.
All are welcome.
