LOVE in action. On Labor Day Sunday, the congregation of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Richmond had a brief time of prayer, song, and Holy Communion in the sanctuary. Then we went beyond the sanctuary to worship God with labor. We picked up trash in the park, pulled weeds from a parking lot, and penned notes to those who can’t be with us physically for worship. ❤️

Tomorrow is Labor Day Sunday. As we have done for several years, we at First Christian Church in Richmond, Indiana, will worship by getting our hands dirty for Jesus. We’ll begin with a very brief service of prayer, song, and Holy Communion. That will be at 10:30 Sunday morning. Then we’ll scatter to our neighborhood to pick up trash. Come join us in this act of loving God and loving others. If you can’t be with us, then join us in spirit by going out to do what you can wherever you are. Pick up trash in your neighborhood. Help out a neighbor. Do it with love! As always, we wish all of you, Peace, Shalom, and Salam!

Wearing or displaying a cross is usually seen as a symbol of our Christian faith. But, what if a cross showed something deeper. What if the cross revealed our surrender to Jesus Christ. That's what we'll talk about tomorrow at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Richmond, Indiana. Our Sunday morning worship (online and in person) begins at 10:30. Our church building is at 100 S. 10th Street (across from the Leland). We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. Tomorrow is "Camp Day" at First Christian Church (Disciples) in Richmond, Indiana. It's a casual worship with camp songs and a different style of worship. BUT, God will still be worshipped! Our theme this year is "Imagination." Put on your comfy clothes and come join in as we imagine what imagination can mean to us as individual humans and as a congregation. Our Sunday morning service (online and in person) will begin at 10:30. Our church building is at 100 S. 10th Street (across from the Leland).
