NEW CLASS - SUNDAYS 9:30AM - SANCTUARY!
What does it mean to call a piece of writing Scripture? How is it that some writings came to be called Scripture and others didn't? Why were Church leaders eventually convinced they needed an official list of what writings could be called Scripture? Who got to decide what texts made the cut? What criteria did they use to make that call? Why is there STILL disagreement about what books make the cut resulting in different churches with different bibles? How does all of this shape our relationship to the Bible as a shaping force for our faith today?

These are the kinds of questions we will answer in the newest chapter of the Turley Sunday School Class starting THIS Sunday at 9:30am in the Sanctuary. See you there!

If you’re 50 or older, we invite you to join us in the banquet hall at First Christian Church on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:00 p.m. for an evening of fun, conversation, and refreshments as we kick off this new fellowship opportunity. In addition to monthly gatherings, this group will offer occasional day trips that combine a visit to a place of interest with lunch together.

On Tuesday, we’ll share the plans already in the works, hear your ideas about future activities and trips you’d enjoy, and even adopt a permanent name for the group.
