The Art of the Rev. H. L. Hayes As an exemplar of the Primitive School of woodcarving, the work of the Rev. H.L. Champion boxer, Marine, Insurance Agent, Clergyman, Woodcarver -- the Rev.

Hayes was displayed at the White House, the Smithsonian, the Vatican, and the Huntington Museum of Art. Hayes (1923-2012) displayed a unique perspective in his art during a long and productive life.

Update for January 20, 2021: Some of you may be interested in how our online store (https://www.ebay.com/str/hayeswoodcarving) has been progressing. Response has far exceeded expectations! In two months, more than half of its inventory has been sold to people ranging from California to France. New items will be posted soon.

It's been a while since I last updated this page, but retirement requires a lot of work and personal adjustment. That said, I want to let you know that some of Dad's work will be available for purchase early next year. Details will be published here first!

It's been five years since Dad was promoted to the next level, but not a day goes by without someone (usually me) telling a story about him or quoting some nugget of his wisdom or humor. All of God's children are unique, but he was "uniquer." His desire to learn was unquenchable. About a year before he died, he attended a funeral I conducted. After the service, he asked me, "Can you imagine what ____________ is seeing right now?" Knowing Dad, he's probably exploring the farthest reaches of Heaven as I write ...
