✨ Meet our team: María Eugenia García, our Human Resources Manager at Living Stones Foundation. ✨

María Eugenia holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Santa María and brings a strong background in quality management, organizational training, and process improvement. She has worked with globally recognized companies such as Reckitt Benckiser Chile and Grünenthal Chile, where she led training programs, managed consumer complaint processes, and coordinated documentation systems in highly regulated environments.

Throughout her career, she has shown herself to be a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented professional, with excellent communication and teamwork skills. Her ability to coordinate teams, facilitate learning, and translate user needs into actionable insights will be essential in strengthening the user experience across our platforms and digital transformation projects.

With a passion for continuous learning, training design, and innovation, she brings a comprehensive perspective that connects local realities in Latin America with global standards in UX research and design. Her expertise in training management, quality control, and people-centered leadership will help reinforce our foundation’s organizational culture.

🇯🇵✨ From Japan, we welcome our new Program Manager at Living Stones Foundation: Monica Mercado Rojas. ✨

With an international background spanning Bolivia, Germany, the United States, and Japan, she brings a strong combination of business development, project management, and process optimization.

At Grupo Mathiesen, she led end-to-end product launches and achieved a 25% YoY growth. At AB-InBev Bolivia, she implemented data-driven solutions that enhanced operational efficiency and strengthened quality control processes.

Her academic foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, along with diplomas in Competency-Based Higher Education, Renewable Energy, and Project Management.

She has also contributed to global research and innovation initiatives, including an internship at Leuphana University (Germany) and participation in international competitions such as the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge and iGEM, where she connected multidisciplinary teams from around the world.

Her experience, global perspective, and passion for innovation make her a key addition to our mission of empowering social impact organizations through digital transformation.

💫 Today is a special day for Living Stones Foundation as we welcome Soledad Álvarez del Sel as our new Data & Technology Advisor, joining the Data Visionaries Team within the Global Affairs Office. 💫

Soledad is a leader who brings together strategic vision, deep technical expertise, and the ability to guide organizations through meaningful transformation. With over 20 years of experience in Data and Technology, she has built an outstanding trajectory through impactful roles at AWS, Baufest, IBM, and the IAE Business School.

She currently serves as Manager of Solutions Architecture at Amazon Web Services (AWS), partnering with executive teams to drive innovation, modernization, and cloud adoption across the region. Her leadership stands out for its clarity, foresight, and ability to turn strategy into tangible outcomes.

Before AWS, Soledad was Global Data & Applied AI Practice Head at Baufest, where she expanded operations, strengthened multicultural teams, and led services in engineering, advanced analytics, and Applied AI — always with a people-centered leadership style.

Her decade at IBM, leading major data initiatives in the financial and telecommunications sectors, reinforced her reputation as a transformation architect able to bridge technology, business, and executive decision-making.

Alongside her corporate career, she has contributed to leadership development as a Tutor in the IAE Business School Online MBA, guiding executives across Latin America.

She holds an Executive MBA (IAE), advanced studies in AI (MIT & Kellogg), and key AWS certifications, positioning her as a regional leader in Data & AI Strategy.

We’re very excited to welcome Khushali Samderiya to Living Stones Foundation as our new Backend Developer!

Khushali brings an impressive mix of academic and professional experience. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Colorado, and previously earned her B.Sc. in Software Engineering at St. Francis College for Women.

Professionally, she has worked on impactful projects in fintech, cloud solutions, and bioinformatics research, with notable experiences at JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte, and as a Freelance Developer leading full-stack and cloud-native systems. Her technical expertise spans Java, Python, React, Node.js, SQL/NoSQL, and AWS/GCP, with a strong focus on AI/ML, distributed systems, and scalable backend engineering.

Her passion for innovation, clean code, and building reliable systems at scale will be a huge asset to our mission of empowering nonprofits through digital transformation and data-driven solutions.

🎤 Con la inspiradora guía de Ralfi y Liseth Osorio, directores de Colombia, vivimos momentos inolvidables y absorbimos conocimientos transformadores.
