The Berkeley Buddhist Vihara warmly invites you to join us for our Annual Vesak Celebration on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 4:30 PM. The program will include Buddha Pooja, Bhakthi Geetha (භක්ති ගීත) (devotional songs), Vesak lantern lighting, and a Dansala (free food).

Dear Devotees,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ven. Wimalaratana Thero's father today in Sri Lanka. At the time of passing, he was 85 years old.

Even Though, Thero had planned to leave the US on the 5th of May, later Thero's father's condition worsened. So Thero decided to leave the US a few days early.

Thero's father is blessed to offer his son to Buddha Sasana. This is a great merit Thero's parents achieved by offering "Buddha Puthra" to Buddha Sasana.

So to honour the Thero and pass the merits to Thero's father the committee decided to have a Pansikula event at the Berkeley Buddhist Vihara on May 5th Sunday at 6:00 pm.

Everyone is welcome to participate in this event. Those who are unable please keep your thoughts and prayers for him to attain the "Supreme Bliss of Nibbana" within a shortest possible time.
