Dear Devotees,
Berkeley Buddhist Vihara annual Vas invitation and monthly Uposatha observance program will be held on Saturday July11th, 2026. There will be observing of eight precepts (Atasil), dhamma discussions, meditation, and dhamma sermons for adults. Please come prepared to observe eight precepts on that day. We cordially invite all to participate in the meritorious activities of the day with the aim of attaining Nibbana.
BBV- Esala Poaya ceremony and Vas invitation ceremony will be held with the participation of Ven. Kannadeniye Santa Thero, Ven. Weragoda Sujatha Thero.Ven. Kahataruppe Wimalaratana Thero and Ven. Kahataruppe Wimalakitti Thero. Their participation will make this event a great success.
This Uposatha day, lunch (Sil Dana/ සිල් දානේ) is sponsored by Mr. Ranjan Ekanayake and Mrs. Kaushalya Ekanayake family. BBV appreciates their generosity and their punyanumodana (wishes) will be offered during the program.
This year, Vas Aradhana will be sponsored by San Jose devotees, with the participation of all devotees.
Please note that throughout this rainy season, we will be having Dhamma sermons, Dhamma discussions, meditation, and special Bodhi pooja. We would like to invite all who like to participate and learn Buddha’s teachings during this period of Vas.
