Another great Community Service Luncheon is on the books! We had about 30 participants who made 250 PBJ sandwiches for the homeless and/or sewed 57 whimsical pillowcases for juvenile cancer patients, plus we have collected enough prewashed cotton fabric to make dozens more. A big THANK YOU to ALL who contributed by bringing food and/or fabric; cut and ironed; pinned and sewed; or offered moral support. A great time was had by all!

I hope some of you will be able to come tomorrow. You don't have to know how to sew as we need people to cut fabric and iron it. We also need people to make PBJ sandwiches😉

Help make cotton and flannel pillows for children undergoing cancer treatments. Or help make 250 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for homeless out reach

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This is one of the most difficult messages I have ever had to share.

On April 24th, a terrible tragedy befell Tiffany Terry and her two children, Zion and Sadie. It is with heavy hearts that we share that Zion and Sadie are now angels in heaven.

Sadie, just 14, was a vibrant 8th-grade mentor at Henderson Middle School known for her kindness. Zion was an outstanding student at John Marshall High School, a member of the National Honor Society, a talented athlete, and an aspiring nurse who had recently received a scholarship to Winston-Salem State University.

In times of unimaginable loss, our community draws together. We are organizing a repast to follow the Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 9th. We expect over 400 attendees, including many of Zion and Sadie’s classmates and friends. We are asking for your help to provide comfort and nourishment for the Terry family and their guests.

"Attention LDS Families! I realize this is short notice..however.... BYU Men's Lacrosse Team just punched their ticket to the D1 Men's Club National Championships last week! As an added bonus, the National Championship will be held at Chesterfield's own River City Complex. Due to the proximity of the tournament, I have been in touch with BYU Head Coach Matt Schneck and we have decided to host a Quad Stake fireside this Sunday at 4 PM with Coach and the rest of the team. Come enjoy a late afternoon with your family as BYU Men's Lacrosse discuss how they "Walk with Jesus Christ". All Richmond Area Stakes are invited. Bring your friends too! This event is for all ages. Hope to see you all this Sunday. Also, for those who are not aware, Mcrae Lambert Manchester Ward) will be joining the team this fall! "

If you wish to support the Cougars at the tournament, you can find the bracket here - https://mcla.us/tournaments/championships/bracket
