How can you practice belonging to yourself today?

Over the next two days, many of our students are returning to school. A couple of weeks ago, our students joined youth from other area church at CAMP RVA for a back to school bash. There they participated in a number of prayer experiences, one of them being a scrabble prayer- what is a one word prayer for this school year and link it with others to show all our prayers coming together as they are lifted to the One on High.
What is your one word prayer for this school year?

Congratulations to Melanie on her graduation from Manchester High School this afternoon! And congrats on being named valedictorian of your class!
Melanie leaves some advice behind for other students, "My advice would be to make sure to have fun. I know a lot of students (myself included) put a lot of focus on grades. Putting so much work into grades and making yourself stressed shouldn’t be the main high school experience. It’s a time to make friends, try new things, and not focus entirely on the future."

Congratulations to Olivia, Isabella, and Justin on their graduation from Midlothian High School this evening! We celebrate with you all and highlight Olivia's completion of the IB program! Good luck to you all on what's next- Olivia to William and Mary, Isabella to JMU, and Justin, we are excited for whatever path you carve out as you explore your options!
Isabella says HRBC has helped her "Grow my relationship with Christ while also meeting new friends and making long-lasting memories."

The tables were set and the invitation was shared! 12Two Students gathered for Friendsgiving yesterday and there was abundance of everything- food, dessert, joy, conversation, and gratitude. Thank you to everyone who made it happen!

We all desire to feel wanted and to have purpose. We have been chosen by God to be God's children. Being chosen by God doesn't make life easy though.

Come to Dive In! (6-8 pm) this Wednesday and be a part of the conversation as we look at the story of Mary, mother of Jesus and what it meant for her to be chosen.
