Seminarians Michael Anctil and Graham Fassero received their call to holy orders by Bishop Knestout earlier today! Both men will be ordained deacons on Oct. 1 at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, as they continue their formation toward the priesthood.

Bishop Knestout celebrated Mass at the Pastoral Center in Richmond to mark their call to orders, thanking the seminarians for their response in answering the Lord’s call.

Following their ordination, Michael and Graham will return to the U.S. to continue their pastoral year and serve in our diocesan parishes.

Please pray for them as they continue their formation and prepare for ordination this fall!

This morning, I had to laugh when someone assumed because, with the upcoming birthday, I am over 65 that I was about to retire. I explained to them that in the Diocese of Richmond our minimum retirement age is 70. With the help of God, I have many years of service left before retirement.
