On this Labor Day, accept God's invitation to rest in Him.
Jesus never asked us to pretend we're okay. He invites weary people.
Maybe today you're exhausted emotionally. Maybe you're carrying grief. Maybe anxiety has become your normal.

Jesus doesn't shame the weary. He welcomes them.
Today, rest in His invitation.

If you're feelin weary, message us or visit hisnewcreation.org — we’d be honored to rest with you.

Where is your mind fixed today?
In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers a promise that never changes:
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord Himself, is the Rock eternal." — Isaiah 26:3–4
Perfect peace isn't found in perfect circumstances, it's found in placing our trust in a perfect God.
Whatever you're carrying today, choose to fix your thoughts on His faithfulness instead of your fears. He is your unshakable Rock, and His peace is available even in the middle of life's storms.
💙 Help us share that hope. If this Scripture encouraged you, share this post with someone who could use the reminder that God's peace is still available today. Together, we can fill social media with truth, encouragement, and the hope of Christ.
Healing is possible. Hope is real. Jesus still restores.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT’S WORLD BEARD DAY?!
I bet you never thought I would be writing a post about World Beard Day… and honestly, neither did I.
But apparently it’s a thing.
And because my brain tends to connect just about everything back to Scripture, here we are. 😂📖
Because believe it or not…
There are actually several pretty significant beard stories in the Bible! I just finished reading one in Ezekiel that really caught my attention.
In Ezekiel 5, God gives the prophet Ezekiel an unusual, and probably pretty shocking, command: “Take a sharp sword; use it as a barber’s razor and shave your head and your beard.” - Ezekiel 5:1
Now, to us, that might sound like: “Okay…so God told him to get a haircut and shave.”
But in Ezekiel’s world, this was a BIG deal.
A beard wasn’t simply a fashion choice.
In ancient Israelite culture, a man’s beard was closely connected with dignity, honor, identity, maturity, and his place within the covenant community. God’s Law even included instructions concerning the hair and beard (Leviticus 19:27), and elsewhere in Scripture, having a beard forcibly cut or shaved could be associated with humiliation, mourning, disgrace, and judgment (2 Samuel 10:4–5; Isaiah 7:20).
So when God told Ezekiel: “Shave your head and your beard…”
He wasn’t asking Ezekiel to change his look.
He was asking him to participate in a prophetic sign that would communicate the coming judgment upon Jerusalem.
And Ezekiel obeyed.
Without negotiating.
Not saying, “Lord, could we perhaps find a less dramatic object lesson?”
No rebuttals, “But Lord…do You know how long it took me to grow this thing?!”
Just obedience.
And I can’t help but think about the surrender required at that moment.
Because obedience to God sometimes requires us to release something that has become deeply connected to our identity, security, comfort, reputation, plans, or even our expectations.
Sometimes God asks us to surrender something we never imagined we would have to lay down.
A dream.
A relationship.
A position.
A timeline.
A plan.
A comfort.
A version of life we thought we would have.
And sometimes the hardest part isn't understanding what God is asking us to do.
It's trusting Him enough to actually do it.
Ezekiel couldn't know exactly how everything would unfold. But he knew the One giving the instruction.
And sometimes that has to be enough.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
So, in honor of World Beard Day, I have a slightly unusual question for you today: What's your “beard”?
What is that thing you've been holding onto that God may be asking you to surrender?
What step of obedience have you been postponing because it feels uncomfortable, costly, confusing, or scary?
What would it look like to say: “Lord, I don't completely understand…but I trust You enough to obey.”
Maybe today isn't really about beards after all. 😉
Maybe it's about remembering that obedience often requires surrender, and surrender requires trust.
And sometimes God asks us to loosen our grip on something familiar so our hands are free to receive what He wants to do next.
So Happy World Beard Day to all the beard-growing gentlemen out there! 🧔👏
Enjoy those glorious beards.
And maybe take a moment to thank the Lord that He hasn't asked you to shave yours as a prophetic sign of judgment today. 😂
But for ALL of us, bearded or not:
What is God asking you to surrender?
Where is He asking you to trust Him?
And what would it look like to obey?
📖 “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” - Isaiah 1:19

Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming.
You may wonder...
What do I say?
Will I be judged?
What if I don't know where to begin?
If you've ever had those thoughts, you're not alone.
At His New Creation Ministries, we understand that walking through our doors for the first time often takes tremendous courage. That's why our first session isn't about having all the answers—it's about creating a safe place for you to simply begin.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you, hear your story, and understand what has brought you to counseling. Together, we'll talk about your goals, answer your questions, and begin developing a plan tailored to your unique needs.
Whether you're seeking healing from past wounds, navigating a difficult season, strengthening your marriage, caring for your child, or simply longing to grow spiritually and emotionally, you'll be met with compassion, biblical truth, and practical guidance.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you come.
You just have to be willing to take the first step.
As Scripture reminds us,
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." — 2 Corinthians 5:17
No matter your past, there is hope for your future.

As parents, we want to protect our children from pain. But the reality is, every child will face challenges they don't yet know how to navigate. Anxiety, friendship struggles, family changes, grief, bullying, academic pressure, and overwhelming emotions can all leave children feeling confused or stuck.

Often, children don't tell us they're hurting. Instead, they show us through changes in behavior, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, difficulty sleeping, or struggles at school. These behaviors aren't simply problems to fix; they're often invitations to look deeper and understand what a child is experiencing.

At His New Creation Ministries, we believe counseling provides children and teens with a safe place to process emotions, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen their confidence, and discover the hope found in Christ. We also believe parents are essential partners in the healing process, so we work together to equip the entire family with practical tools for lasting growth.

God uniquely creates every child with incredible value and purpose. Sometimes they simply need someone to walk alongside them as they learn to navigate life's challenges.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, not just today, but for years to

Seek Him. Rest in Him. He is enough.

How often do we carry burdens that God has never asked us to carry?

We worry about tomorrow. We replay yesterday. We strive to hold everything together, believing that if we just try a little harder, we'll finally find peace.

Yet Jesus offers a different invitation.

"Come to Me..."

Not after you've figured everything out. Not after you've fixed yourself. Not after the storm has passed.

Come now.

Bring Him your worries. Bring Him your unanswered questions. Bring Him your weary heart. Bring Him the burdens you've been carrying alone.

The beautiful truth of the Gospel is that our peace isn't found in perfect circumstances, it's found in the presence of a perfect Savior.

Today, choose to pause.

Seek His presence before seeking solutions.

Rest in His promises instead of your own strength.

Release what was never yours to carry.

Receive the peace that only Christ can give.

Because the One who heals the brokenhearted is still healing hearts today.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

💙 If this encouraged you today, save this post as a reminder for the week ahead and share it with someone who may need the invitation to rest in God's presence.

If you are struggling to forgive someone, remember that forgiveness is never pretending you were never hurt. It is not denying what happened. It is not giving someone permission to continue harming you.

Forgiveness is, in many ways, an act of surrender. It is choosing to release our desire for revenge, our need to make someone pay, and the burden of carrying bitterness in our hearts. It may not be easy, but it can be freeing. And we can help you get there. Learn more from our latest blog at https://hisnewcreation.org/post/forgiveness.

Is there someone you want to forgive? If you forgive them, do you have to forget what happened? After you forgive someone, do you have to resume your relationship, or reconcile with them? You might be surprised to know that God doesn’t expect us to forget what we forgive. You can forgive and move on. Or you can dive back into that relationship and try to mend it. Watch this video as Brianne Parker, the director of His New Creation Ministries, explains how this can work.

Behind every counseling session is a story.
A husband and wife fighting for their marriage.
A child learning how to process big emotions.
A ministry leader carrying burdens no one else sees.
A parent searching for hope.
At His New Creation Ministries, we believe healing shouldn't be reserved for those who can afford it. That's why we've intentionally chosen to provide counseling services well below the average market rate, while also offering free and reduced-cost counseling for pastors, ministry leaders, missionaries, and individuals experiencing financial hardship.
We never want finances to be the reason someone goes without the hope and healing they desperately need.
This mission is only possible because of generous people who believe that every life is worth investing in.
Your gift doesn't simply pay for a counseling session. It helps restore marriages, strengthen families, care for ministry leaders, and point people to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
If you'd like to partner with us in making biblical counseling accessible to those who need it most, we'd be honored to have you join us.
