Today, on Veterans Day, we honor our grandfather, a man who stood with courage, dignity, and quiet strength. He volunteered four years of service in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge in 1954.

He served during a time when our people were not always welcomed, respected, or treated with the honor they deserved. Yet he showed up anyway. He carried pride, discipline, and purpose. He built a legacy that still lives in us today.

His service is a reminder that bravery doesn’t always look loud, sometimes it looks like faith, responsibility, and rising to the call of duty with your head held high.

Thank you, Papa!
For your service.
For your sacrifice.
For your example.
Your legacy lives in your son, your granddaughters, our children and every generation that will come after. 🕊️💙🤍

Happy Veterans Day. Your descendants will NEVER forget you!

👀 Look what I found…
My Grandfather’s segregated Carver High Class of 1950 yearbook! He was a senior. And yes, my Granny’s in here too, a 9th grader, already the class financial secretary (because of course she was secretary 😅). If you know someone from Carver around that time (grades 8-12), drop their name and grade and I’ll flip through the pages for ya!

Merry CHRISTmas Solid Rock & Friends!

I don’t see how anyone one would not want to follow the most Gracious Leader of them all, King Jesus! He’s the one whom God's holy wrath, against the sin of the world, was poured upon. For it was Jesus’ special blood that would redeem us from sin. Not Mary’s! Not Adam’s! Not David’s! Not Abraham’s! And not Moses’! But Jesus!!! Rev . James Douglas, in this very special Christmas sermon, LEAD ME TO JESUS (48 Minutes; SRBC Cyber Sermon #48) paints a vivid story of the birth of Jesus. He even spoke of the times we were warned of our Lord from 7 centuries before Christ was even born. In case you’re confused, Rev. Douglas makes it very clear for those of us who are confused of what God owes us (absolutely nothing) and how we owe Him everything! He also gives explanations of what we should say when being questioned about why we celebrate the Almighty King.

Good Morning Solid Rock & Friends,
This week’s message is special. It was recorded on the 1 year anniversary of the very day our beloved Pastor went home to join Our Lord & Savior. Pastor Johnson was a faithful servant of God and would constantly remind us to have the faith of a mustard seed. What a treat it is for Rev. Douglas’s topic to be just that-Faith. He reminds us this week to KEEP WORKING YOUR FAITH (Heb. 11:1-3 & 1 Tim. 4:1; 51 Minutes; SRBC Cyber Sermon # 47) I refuse to give you my usual full description this time, instead I’d like to give you an assignment. First, read the questions below, then view and see if you can answer them.
1. When was faith first mentioned in the
Bible?
2. How many examples of Faith did Rev.
Douglas mention from the Old Testament?
3. What’s my most favorite line in this
sermon, I’ll give you a clue, the words Solid
& Rock are each used twice in the
sentence.
4. Why can’t you pray for faith?
5. What are the three types of faith?

After viewing this powerful message, not only will you know the answers to the above questions but you’ll also learn how to grow and nurture your faith.

⚠️ WARNING! This is not the traditional Jonah & the big fish story that you’re used to. In Rev. Douglas’s words, don’t go fetching the hot sauce from the cabinet (or in my case the fridge-I like my hot sauce cold) from the cabinet for your 3 piece lake trout dinner!!! This is a story about a reluctant prophet who runs from God, suffers a mighty storm both physically & spiritually & has a tantrum when God’s will was done. Jonah was the epitome of a Cold Hearted Soul! However, if you take a look/listen at JONAH, THE COLD HEARTED PROPHET (Jonah 1:1-3 & 4:6-10; 59 Minutes; SRBC Cyber Sermon #46) you’ll find that the warm blood of Jesus can still run through cold hearted veins. Of the many lessons you may learn from this powerful message, 2 of my favorites are “its better to run to God than away from him because and that our choices will either cause blessings or troubles.

Good Morning Solid Rock & Friends!
It’s been awhile. So what better way to make a comeback than with a message reminding us of how God is always there. Even when we can’t see Him, or forget His presence, He’s still there ordering our steps and arranging our lives to His will. Rev. Douglas in his sermon, GOD NEVER PLOTS, GOD ALWAYS PLANS (Esther 1:1-5, 10-12; 53 Minutes, SRBC Cyber Sermon #45) uses the story of Esther to prove this. He doesn’t just mention her though, King Ahasuerus, Queen Vashti, Mordecai & Haman, a 6 month long party with no “last call”, a failed genocide attempt and even COVID-19 are all major topics in today’s sermon. All in all, God is always there. Working behind the scenes, executing His plan, destroying Satan’s plots and bringing about His divine purpose. So trust God’s timing! Be patient and faithful! And never forget that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord!

It’s been awhile. So what better way to make a comeback than with a message reminding us of how God is always there. Even when we can’t see Him, or forget Hi...

Pulpit Pimps! Did that get your attention? It sure got mine’s when Rev. James Douglas mentioned it in this week’s sermon, God’s Plan for Equality (Ephesians 3:14-21; 38 Minutes; SRBC Cyber Sermon #44) but that’s just a part of it. The main part involves a prayer. Not just any prayer but one that is written from the jail cell of the Apostle Paul. One that if granted would help us grow in every dimension of our faith. One that’s emotional and intense. One who’s writer once sought to destroy the church of God. One in which the usual bowing of the head isn’t suffice (Instead the knees replaces the head and bows down!) Paul prays that God strengthens us with his power. He prays that we understand how Jesus’ love is limitless and that God is worthy and able to change our lives. Simply put, Paul asks God to help the Ephesians exhibit a faith that goes beyond knowledge and into action which brings us to God’s plan, you know the one where He invites each and every one of us to be in Him. Take a listen for more…
