JAM Kids Sunday School
A Message from Our Teachers & Pastors
Dear Parents and Families,
We want to take a moment to speak from the heart about the changes that have been taking place within our Sunday School program.
First and foremost, please understand this: none of the changes we are making are meant to punish the children. Our intention is not discipline for the sake of control, but growth for the sake of their future.
Everything we are implementing is with one goal in mind—to help your children develop accountability, responsibility, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
We want our students to grow not only in behavior, but in their faith. That growth comes through consistency—showing up, participating, and giving their best effort each week.
While we love the fun parts of Sunday School—like treats, special events, and activities—those are not the true purpose. The goal is not just to have fun or enjoy things like ice cream or special “lock-in” events.
The true purpose is to teach them about Jesus—so that one day, they can go to Heaven and be with Him forever.
That is why these changes matter.
⸻
Regarding the Current Lock-In Event:
We want to clarify that this current event was originally intended as a reward for the students who participated in the Church Takeover, along with their families and those who have been consistently supporting them through Sunday School.
However, we understand that many have already signed up, and we do not want to turn anyone away. Therefore the only requirement is that they also attend and participate in the church service that evening.
⸻
Looking Ahead – New Points System
(Beginning After Easter):
As we continue working toward building structure, accountability, and spiritual growth, our Sunday School staff and Pastor have agreed to move forward with a new points-based system following Easter.
While full details are still being finalized, here is an overview of what to expect:
• Children will earn points for positive actions such as:
• Attending Sunday School
• Participating in church services
• Volunteering at church events (such as community outreach or awareness events)
• Singing, helping, or being actively involved
• Points may also be deducted for negative behaviors.
• Future events and activities will have point requirements:
• Students who have earned enough points will be able to attend
• Students who do not meet the requirement will not be eligible for that event
This system is designed to encourage consistency, responsibility, and active participation in things that help grow their relationship with God.
More detailed information about this system will be sent home soon.
⸻
We truly appreciate your support, patience, and partnership as we work together to do what is best for your children—not just now, but for their future in Christ.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of their journey.
With appreciation,
JAM Kids Teachers & Pastors
