New Years Resolutions are something that happens every year but most of the time they are hard to keep. From exercising more to eating healthier or even keeping the house cleaner.

Throughout this Christmas season we have done but that doesn't have to be only during Christmas time! We can make it our New Years Resolution to all year round!

Lighting the World is all about serving others and being more Christlike and we could all do that a little more!

How can you throughout the year?

How have y'all been enjoying ? 🎄

Today's is to write letters and deliver them to a nursing home. Instead, Sister Anderson and Sister Nielson helped tie fleece blankets for a friend to deliver to a nursing home. 🧺

We are so grateful for the opportunity that we had to tie fleece blankets and bring back some old memories. Mosiah 2:17 "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."

How will you serve your fellow beings and God today?

Listen to James share one of his favorite stories from the Book Of Mormon!

"I picked this story from the book of mormon because this year has been hard due to COVID-19, and I think that Nephi’s example of faith and determination can help us get through this pandemic.

When Lehi’s family were traveling through the wilderness to get to the land of promise, Nephi broke his bow hunting for food for his family. His brother’s were angry at him because they could not bring any food back to their family. Without food everyone began to complain against God because they were suffering. Nephi however did not complain and went straight to work making a new bow out of wood. When he was done he went to his father and asked where to go to find food.

I think this story means that if we are faithful then Heavenly Father will give us great blessings and help us get through our trials. Nephi shows that in times of despair, we should keep going, and eventually we will be able to conquer our trails."

(1 Nephi 16:15-32)

These are our AMAZING parents! We love our parents so much and although we may not be able to see them all the time we can still show our love for them. They show us so much love, have taught us a lot and are truly blessings in our lives.

It is just like our Heavenly parents. Our Heavenly Father and Mother love us so much! They love us enough to let us come down to earth to learn and grow and eventually return to live with them again after this life.

What are some reasons that you are grateful for your parents?

It's day 12 for and we were invited to shop with care! When we look back on the life that Jesus lived, we see that He really did care for His community! So, let's follow his example, and help out our local community!

We decided to help out our local kettle corn shop, which had some FANTASTIC kettle corn! There are many ways we can support our communities; by giving positive reviews, purchasing an item, buying gift cards, offering help, etc. Christ taught us to love one another!

We can light the world, one by one, as we minister to eachother with love. What will you do to bring light to one who may be in darkness? What will you do to follow Jesus Christ?
