A Homegoing Announcement

It is with profound sadness, yet with the blessed assurance of our Christian faith, that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Dorothy Mae Ross, a wonderful mother, cherished grandmother, faithful saint, and beautiful woman of God.

Mother Dorothy Mae Ross peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday October 6, 2026, at 2:00 a.m.

She was a loving mother to our dear Jeanette Sydnor, and a devoted and cherished grandmother to our First Lady, Lady Erica Burton and Overseer Sterling M. Burton III. Her life was a beautiful testimony of love, strength, grace, faith, and devotion to God and family.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in the promise of God’s Word:

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”
— Psalm 116:15 (KJV)

Mother Ross has completed her earthly journey, but the love she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

As the family walks through this season of bereavement, we ask the entire church family, friends, and loved ones to keep the family of Mother Dorothy Mae Ross lifted in prayer. Pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds during this difficult time.

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
— Matthew 5:4 (KJV)

Arrangements to follow.

What an UNFORGETTABLE 5th Sunday Youth Sunday! ❤️‍🔥🙌🏾

Our youth showed up, showed OUT, and reminded us that the fire of God is alive in this generation! From powerful worship and incredible singing, to heartfelt poetry, joyful fellowship, and an AMAZING bake sale — every part of the day was special.

And what a preached Word from Elder Maya Jonèe:
🔥 “A Flame in the Shadow” 🔥

A reminder that even in dark places, God can preserve the flame. The shadow does not have the final say when the fire of God is still burning within you.

We are so proud of every young person who served, sang, spoke, worshiped, created, and helped make this Youth Sunday one to remember. Heart Aflame took over! ❤️‍🔥

We’re officially ONE MONTH AWAY. ❤️‍🔥

September carries a testimony for our house.

On 9.15.23, Overseer Burton suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest and died — but Jesus Christ brought him back to life.

Three years later, we’re gathering not simply to remember what happened, but to give glory to the God who is STILL a healer, STILL a miracle worker and STILL worthy of our praise.

Save the date. Invite somebody. Come expecting God. ❤️
