A Collect for those in the path of the South Georgia wildfires

Almighty and ever living God, we lift up the needs of those whose communities are facing the fires that rage across south Georgia: Be present with those who have lost their homes, all who are anxiously waiting for word following evacuation to safety, and the firefighters who are battling the blazes, for you are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble; we ask this in the name of Jesus your son, who abides with you and with the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Tomorrow night, Maundy Thursday, is one of the quieter, more meaningful services of the week.

Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and instructs them to do the same. We remember, strip the Altar-Table and go in silence to fast and pray.

It’s a simple and reflective, and chance to slow down and be present in a way we don’t always make time for.

Ever wonder if you’ve stumbled one too many times for God to use someone like you? Could you benefit from an encounter with God’s unending, unbending, unswerving love and devotion?

This 5-week study of Max Lucado's "God Never Gives Up on You" explores grace, second chances, and the faithfulness of God to us, even when we feel we've fallen short.
