St. Anthony of Padua was recognized for his powerful preaching skills. St. Francis heard the glowing reports of this young Fransiscan preacher, and asked him to begin teaching his fellow Fransiscan brothers. You may know that St. Anthony is frequently asked for intercession for lost items. St. Anthony had a favorite book of psalms that was very valuable to him, and contained his personal notes and the comments he had made in the Psalter to assist with teaching students in the Franciscan order. It was suspected that a novice leaving the community had stolen the Psalter. Anthony prayed for the return of his beloved possession. Shortly after, the novice returned the book and sought Anthony’s forgiveness, which was given.

St. Margaret of Scotland was born an English princess. When her family fled from William the Conqueror, they were shipwrecked and washed up in Scotland. The King of Scotland at the time, Malcolm Canmore III, took Margaret's family under his wing. He and Margaret fell in love, were married, and had eight children together. Margaret became reknowned for her great piety and love for the poor. Her loving and attentive care to her husband and children brought them all closer to Christ. She led an austere life even as Queen, often fasting and waking during the night to pray. She is depicted here with the Holy Family, a homage to the model of a domestic church that St. Margaret was with her own family.
