🌿🪦 Exciting News! A Grave Touch Is Merging with Roots & Resting Places!

After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to bring two of my greatest passions together under one name!

When I started A Grave Touch, my goal was to help preserve historic gravestones, educate others about proper cemetery preservation, and honor the memories of those who came before us.

Through my work, I've had the opportunity to explore historic cemeteries, care for weathered gravestones, uncover fascinating stories, and help bring attention to the importance of preserving these irreplaceable pieces of history.

But cemetery preservation isn't my only passion.

I'm also a professional genealogist and the owner of Roots & Resting Places, where I help individuals and families discover their ancestry, investigate family mysteries, and uncover the stories hidden within historical records.

And the more I've worked in both fields, the more I've realized the having These separate did not make sense.

Every gravestone has a story. Every name represents a life. And sometimes, the cemetery is where the genealogical journey begins.

That's why I've decided to officially merge A Grave Touch into Roots & Resting Places!

❤️ What does this mean for A Grave Touch?

My cemetery preservation work is NOT going away!

I'll still be sharing gravestone cleaning projects, cemetery discoveries, preservation education, gravestone symbolism, and the fascinating stories of those buried in our historic cemeteries.

My volunteer cemetery preservation efforts will also continue.

The difference is that all of this will now be shared alongside my genealogical research, family history discoveries, and historical storytelling under Roots & Resting Places.

🌳 One name. One mission.

To everyone who has followed A Grave Touch, watched my videos, shared my posts, or supported my preservation efforts, thank you! Your encouragement has meant so much.

I'd love for you to join me over at Roots & Resting Places! That's where all future cemetery preservation posts, project updates, and historical discoveries will be shared.

This isn't the end of A Grave Touch's mission. It's the next chapter in preserving the past and sharing the stories it leaves behind.

❤️ A big brother and infant sister, side by side for eternity. ❤️

Their memorials received a gentle cleaning, removing the years of biological growth and staining.

Even simple preservation work can help ensure that these young lives continue to be remembered for generations to come.

Note: I did not "fix" Anthey's stone, it was done some years ago.

Little at a time we work to preserve their names, in turn they can never be forgotten.

This weekend is Caring for Your Cemetery Weekend 🪦.

Cemeteries need our care, and history needs our preservation efforts.

I am proud to collaborate with GraveGeeks on this initiative. If you cannot participate in person, there are still ways to make a difference.
You can adopt a headstone in my name, and I will complete a preservation project.

See the impact here: https://www.gravegeeks.org/adopt-a-headstone

Waxes have no place on marble and granite stones.

This is the guidance for cleaning Government issued veteran grave markers… anyone claiming that a wax product has been approved for use on marble and granite stones by the VA or NCA is absolutely wrong! Do not fall for scams presented by snake oil salesmen! The full guidance can be found here.
