Our very own Master Demontre Hester represented St. Louis Missionary Baptist Church at today’s Union Meeting, youth activity “Who am I”. The youth were asked to interview one person who encouraged them, and Tré picked our own beloved Deacon Walter Thompson. 🥹

Today was a day filled with the goodness of the Lord. We had two services to celebrate the men in our church. Pastor Hester led us in saying “It’s personal.” 🙌🏾 Rev. Dr. Baxter rounded home but discussing the “Chosen 12”! Below are pictures from both services.

Youth revival was amazing 🙌🏾 Despite the rough weather and black out throughout the city 😬 the members and guests of SLMBC came together and tore the roof off the church.

🔥 YOUTH REVIVAL: “THEY NOT LIKE US!” 🔥

📖 Acts 28:1–6

The world may try to tell you how to talk, dress, think, act, and fit in… but when you belong to CHRIST, you were never called to blend in! 🙌🏾

In Acts 28, Paul was shipwrecked on the island of Malta. While helping gather sticks for a fire, a poisonous snake fastened onto his hand. The people expected him to swell up and die, but Paul simply shook the snake into the fire and suffered no harm. God’s power was greater than what tried to destroy him! 🔥

That same message is for this generation:

❤️ They not like us… because we LOVE differently.
🙏🏾 They not like us… because we PRAY differently.
🙌🏾 They not like us… because we PRAISE differently.
💪🏾 They not like us… because what tried to destroy us didn’t defeat us.
✝️ They not like us… because we belong to JESUS!

Young people, you don’t have to change who God created you to be just to fit in. STAND OUT. SPEAK UP. LIVE BOLD.

The world may expect you to be defeated, but God has given you the strength to shake off every attack and keep moving forward! What was meant to harm you will not stop God’s purpose for your life. 🔥

📖 “And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.” — Acts 28:5

🔥 THEY NOT LIKE US!
And when you’ve been called, chosen, and changed by Christ… you shouldn’t want to be!
