Yesterday brought a close to our 5-week journey through the book of Genesis!

As we looked at Joseph finally revealing his identity to his brothers in Genesis 45, we were reminded of a truth we all need to hear: Left to our own power, human nature pulls us toward division, control, and holding grudges—but God is relentlessly at work, bending our story back toward His grace.

If you missed Sunday or need a reminder as you start your week, hang onto these three truths:

- The Church is a Hospital: We aren't a museum for perfect saints; we’re a hospital for broken people. And the cure isn't our own effort—it's Jesus Christ, our Savior, who meets us right in the middle of our mess.

- We are Vessels, Not the Source: You don't have to carry the overwhelming pressure of trying to change someone else's heart. We aren't the waters of change—we are just the vessel holding it. God is the source, and only He can transform a heart.

- God is Bigger Than the Pit: In spite of human error, chaotic circumstances, or deep relational wounds, God takes the broken choices of our lives and weaves them into His sovereign grace.

Whatever mess, division, or tension you are carrying into this week, lay down the need to fix it in your own strength. Yield control, take a breath, and lean on the God who is actively at work in your story.

Takeaway Question for the Week: Where in your life do you need to stop trying to be the source of change and simply let God be the vessel of grace through you?

When you look back on the hardest or messiest chapters of your life, can you see moments where God was working behind the scenes?

It's easy to feel like pain, betrayal, or family chaos get the last word. But the story of Joseph reminds us that God is constantly weaving grace, healing, and redemption through the middle of our mess.

What’s one way you’ve seen God’s hand at work in a chapter you thought was broken?

If you spent this last Sunday morning carrying the heavy weight of comparison, performance, or feeling like you had to "earn" your place—hear this simple truth today:

God does not show favoritism. You don't have to prove your worth to Him or fight for a seat at His side. Jesus took the ultimate rejection on the cross so that you and I could be fully forgiven, unconditionally loved, and permanently welcomed into the family of God.

Step out of the hallway of comparison this week and rest in who He says you are. ❤️

Our world loves to rank people, play favorites, and hand out status to a select few. But the Gospel flips that completely on its head: God doesn't operate on favoritism, and His love leaves no one sitting on the outside.

As we look toward Genesis 37 this Sunday (Sibling Rivalry, Part III), we’re reminded that our true value isn't found in the status or "robes" society hands out, but in the unconditional love of a Father who calls each of us His beloved child.

💬 We'd love to hear from you in the comments: What helps you keep your heart anchored in His love when the world pushes you to compete or compare? 👇
