House of Prayer Holy Closure Worship Services & Luncheon/ Program

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, please come for meaningful music-filled worship services (9:30a & 11a), luncheon, short program, and fellowship time to share in the blessings that House of Prayer Lutheran Church has been in this space.

We will gather to tell the story of God’s love and faithfulness to us and be people who seek Christ in each person – yesterday, today, and into the future. We continue our rich ministry in Richfield as we become Crosstown Lutheran Church with our Woodlake Lutheran Church partners.

Please spread the word. We welcome all for whom House of Prayer has been a spiritual home for one moment or a lifetime to join us for this day.

Contact Pastor Eric Luedtke at [email protected] or Andry Jurcich at [email protected] with any questions or to help with the day.

Final Worship Services at House of Prayer - Sunday, September 13, 2026 - Announcing the final day of worship for House of Prayer is no easy task. We know it is going to be a challenging day. As we celebrate the 73 years of ministry that have happened as House of Prayer in Richfield, as confident as we are in the mission of Crosstown Lutheran Church, and as certain as we are about the God who loves us unconditionally, worshipping for the final time in a space that has been our spiritual home will bring a mix of emotions sure to include tears and sadness. Together we name these realities as we announce the final day of worship at House of Prayer will be Sunday, September 13.

We will gather for worship at 9:30am and 11:00am as has been our pattern these last few years. We will gather to once again tell the story of God’s love and faithfulness to us and make a commitment to be people who seek Christ in each person. We welcome all for whom House of Prayer has been a spiritual home for one moment or a lifetime to join us for this day. Additional details of the morning are being shaped by our leaders and we will announce them as they are confirmed.

Beginning Sunday, September 20, we will begin the transition toward Crosstown Lutheran Church with Rally Sunday on September 20, at 10am at the Woodlake Lutheran Church site. On September 27, we begin our combined fall schedule with worship at 9am and 10:45a with education at 10a at the Woodlake site.

We look forward to this time to worship together as members of HOP and WL as we prepare for Crosstown Lutheran Church Charter Sunday, Sunday, October 25 (Reformation Sunday).

Pastoral Response to Richfield Shooting -
To our House of Prayer Family,

This morning we awoke to news of violence just down 76th Street from us; and way too close to our beloved neighbors at Woodlake Lutheran. We grieve every death and we grieve every injury. We pray for mental and physical healing for the officer and for God’s wisdom in guiding their care teams. We pray that the victim’s family knows that their loved one is important. There are a number of details we don’t know yet; but there are plenty of things we don’t need details to affirm:

We affirm that our neighbor who was killed bore the image of God in the world, at every minute, including their last moments.

We affirm that we are called to “seek the welfare of the city” no matter where we find ourselves. (Jeremiah 29:7) And a community where anyone has to look through strangers’ cars for their daily bread is not tending to its people (and we know that that includes us).

We lament that too much blood has been shed in the streets of our community this winter and spring.

And we remember that just this month, we as Christians gathered around our story of our own publicly executed Savior. We glorify Jesus. We honor him as the Prince of Peace; the one who turns swords into ploughshares and weapons into pruning hooks. (Isaiah 2:4) The one who calls us – all of us – to do the same.

We are here with you, as pastors and as neighbors/congregation. We know you may have questions that may not have answers. We know that you may need someone to talk with as you process your own response. Reach out to us as you have need in light of this tragedy.
