Our incredible sukkah building team came together with their tools and closed-toed shoes and built our beautiful Sukkah! Thanks to the leadership of Justin Ross and our incredible team of volunteers for assembling this amazing space for us to use in a matter of a couple of weeks! Next up - the Schach!

of this past Sunday's holiday rotations. Our students helped us change our Torah covers to their High Holiday whites and even got hands-on with polishing the silver that adorns our Torahs. Through this experience, students learned about the different elements of our Torahs, and the important work that goes into preparing our synagogue for the High Holidays.

It's Camp Shabbat Time AND Volunteer Shabbat: Honoring Mallory Joy!

Bring your camp shirt and practice singing your favorite camp songs because it's time for our annual Camp Shabbat! Families - send pictures of you and your student at camp to [email protected] by August 25th to make it onto our camper wall of fame!

Through the gift of a generous donor, we celebrate one member each month for the work they do for CBT. Our August Volunteer of the Month, Mallory Joy, is also the first teen to receive this honor! Her willingness to take initiative and help wherever needed has been inspiring to witness as she continues to grow into a remarkable leader within our community.

Mallory Joy is a teen who is always willing to step up, show up, and lend a hand. Her contributions to our community have been incredibly meaningful, and the impact of her dedication and leadership will be felt for years to come.

Whether you purchase a picnic lunch for Tashlich, share a photo for our Ushpizin in the Sukkah initiative, donate to our annual High Holiday Food Drive, or participate in one of our many other programs and initiatives, there are so many ways to get involved and find your community here at CBT.

Today, most of our 2026–2027 Board of Directors came together for their annual Board Retreat!

From reviewing board expectations and getting to know one another, to discussing special initiatives we hope to accomplish in the year ahead—and even learning where to find important documents on our website—the retreat covered it all.

From the small, nitty-gritty details to the bigger picture of our vision and mission, this time together gave our Board the opportunity to connect, get grounded, and prepare for the year ahead.

We are so grateful for the leadership, dedication, and energy this group brings to our community, and we can’t wait to see all they accomplish as leaders of Congregation Beth Torah!

This summer Congregation Beth Torah had the absolute pleasure of hosting a Jewish Family Service of Dallas Klein Intern. Our intern, Nithya, focused on our communications - printed media and online social media - and she was a total rockstar. If you saw any of our fun Reels, or new artwork, those were Nithya's doing!

Thank you to Jewish Family Services for giving us this opportunity to be a host site for an incredible internship program, and to Nithya, who has a bright future ahead.
