Join us for Founder’s Day, the annual celebration of the beginning of our community. This year, we’ll turn our attention to the stories, people, and moments that have shaped Congregation Beth Torah.

With a special focus on our Archives, we’ll explore the importance of preserving our history and recording the stories that make our community what it is today. Come celebrate where we’ve been, reflect on where we are, and help us preserve our history for generations to come.

A special oneg to follow.

: Kids vs. Adults Kickball Match!

What a game! Our Kids vs. Adults Kickball showdown ended in an exciting 10–10 tie! Everyone was a winner in the end, with popsicles for all!

A huge THANK YOU to our Learning Center parents, our amazing refs, and CBT Men’s Club for helping make this fun-filled event happen.

The competition isn’t over yet… we can’t wait for the rematch! Who do YOU think will take home the win next time? 🏆

📸✨ Our annual Sisterhood Paid Up Brunch was fantastic!

We were honored to welcome speaker Tarrah Lantz, CEO of Hope’s Door, who shared the incredible work she and her team do to support women—and sometimes their families—as they leave abusive situations. Hope’s Door helps provide the resources and support needed for these women to get back on their feet and build a brighter future.

As part of this special program, Sisterhood also hosted a clothing and accessories swap! From gently loved dresses, shirts, pants, and coats to jewelry, handbags, and other accessories, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

And the giving didn’t stop there! Any items that weren’t swapped among Sisterhood members were donated to Hope’s Door to support the women and families they serve.

A wonderful morning of sisterhood, meaningful connections, and giving back to our community. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special!

Sisterhood's Hot Topics kicked off for the year this past Sunday with a Mahj and Mingle! Such a fun morning playing Mahj with friends. And did you know that these cute Mahj totes are available for purchase in our L'Dor V'Dor gift shop?

Our next Hot Topics is Sunday, December 6th where we will discuss: "How to talk to your kids about Israel." We hope to see you there!

Through the gift of a generous donor, we celebrate one member each month for the work they do for CBT. This month, we are thrilled to recognize Cyd Friedman as our Volunteer of the Month!

A former Synagogue President, Torah Fund honoree, current Shabbat service leader, B'nei Mitzvah tutor, Learning Center mentor, and consultant to our Board of Directors alongside Alan Hoffman to help develop future congregational leaders, it's almost easier to ask what Cyd doesn't do. For years, Cyd has been a dedicated leader at Congregation Beth Torah and throughout the greater Dallas Jewish community. She is a trusted mentor, thoughtful confidant, and cherished friend to so many. Her wisdom, generosity, and unwavering commitment continue to strengthen our congregation in countless ways.

Thank you, Cyd, for your extraordinary leadership, your selfless service, and the lasting impact you make on our community. Congregation Beth Torah is stronger because of you! Thank you to our Membership Committee for organizing this beautiful program. If you’re interested in getting involved, email [email protected].

As we remember the horrors of October 7, three years later, we also must continue to look forward. How do we create a better world and a better future for ourselves and our children? How do we continue to build a community rooted in hope?

Holding this duality is part of our obligation: to remember the lives lost and to also press forward with hope. As Rabbi Sacks also stated, “The name of the Jewish future is hope.”

May their memories be a blessing. Am Yisrael Chai.

The staff (minus Chef Michelle 😭) gathered under the congregational sukkah for lunch today! This lunch is always such a wonderful reminder of what a great team we have, and how special it is to simply gather together, enjoy one another’s company, laugh, and have some fun outside of the day-to-day.
